All this gorgeous sunny warm dry weather has brought my hayfever on big style.

Sniffing, sneezing, runny itchy nose, gammy eyes and feeling stuffy headed! Not great if I'm like this next year when I get hitched on the 11th May!

Does anyone else have this problem/worry? How are you going to cope?

My sister suffers badly from it too ...........what a pair we'll be! Bride and BM walking down the aisle sneezing and sniffing with puffy eyes lol! Attractive!

Sometime the antihistamines don't work, I'm really going to have to pray we have a good day.

Have you ever had a steriod injection for it? My GP wouldn't let me have it.

Silk flowers, loads of tablets and vaseline smeared inside my nostrils! (random but my Dr once told me that it stops the molecules clinging to your nostril hair as much so it helps to reduce the itchy nose) It works for me! xx

The GP can prescribe antihistamines that're stronger than the usual ones you can get. The trick with them though is you do need to take them everyday without fail for them to work well.

I get pretty bad hayfever and also seem to have an allergy to grass as well -.-'

Least I'm getting married in March lol

There is a device you can buy that helps my MIL2B brought it for me for my birthday and i must admit at first i was a bit like gee thanks! But it really works I am a PE teacher so outside all day on a field and they insist n cutting the grass twice a week which killed me last year! It's from Llyods pharmacy and it is called an 'Allergy Reliever' Its a little battery operated machine with 2 prongs that you insert into your nose each treatment is 3 minutes but it is all you need. Would really recommend it xx

I do the vaseline thing too ;)

My future FIL actually keeps bees and produces his own honey which is kinda local, about 5 miles from where I live, not sure it helped with my hayfever though last year, will try it again, if it doesn't work, well it's delicious anyway.

I'll have to go to the pharmacy and look out for the allergy reliever, thanks Ossie.

I've just had to close the windows in my flat as I can't stop sneezing! So warm though!

Use the nasal spray and tablets together and before the season
Are you completely allergic to lactose or just intolerant? Just because one brand has lactose in doesn't mean they all do either

I'm allergic to dairy, makes me really sick and I realised I also got the same feeling but less intense when I took the tablets.

So I have checked with the pharmacist at B@@ts, we checked all the packets of all the different brands and own brands and they all have lactose in them. Was funny as one of the ladies on the counter said that she took the tablets and always wondered why she felt ill taking them and she's lactose intolerant.

Fexofenadine is lactose free as far as I can see, speak to your gp, may be worth a try :)

I only asked about the lactose as if it's not a severe intolerance or allergy you can normally take tablets ok as often they only contain as much lactose as a couple of ml of milk

im the same as lego bride, i have really bad hayfever, so bad that it ends up affecting my chest and giving me asthma symtoms on which i also need an inhaler to releive it.
my gp prescribes tablets that are a lot stronger than the usual ones you buy in the shops of which i have to take everyday to make sure that they work when i need them.

i take hay fever tablets from end of feb... and also the day before wedding (today) i took tomorrows tablet at bedtime so it is already in my system as i wake. the doctor will prescribe stronger tabs than over the counter... and if you combine with localised honey it should be ok.

I've found mine is slightly better now I'm on the pill. I take benadryl the one that works in 15 mins as I work in the dungeons so don't actually get out much while the pollen is around ,combined with a homeopathic one three times a day (if its really bad you can take them every half an hour).

I'm planning on just taking the benadryl first thing then a bit later as they really work.

The honey is a great idea, not sure how I feel about the nose thing.

We both suffer him more then me.
We have based a few decisions around this
1, getting wed in november so less pollen plus I go red if Im hot and dont want that on our pics
    2, all silk flowers everywhere
3, we both take herbal tablets that last 24hrs, they make you worse for about an hour after but after that you can do, go anywhere and nothing HIGHLY recommend them (from h&b)

We're having all silk flowers because we want to keep them, but also for this reason as I get really bad hayfever. I'm suffering with it already! But after reading this thread, I'm worried about the pollen in the air. We're getting married in June lol so there will probably be pollen everywhere :(
I've never heard of the Vaseline thing but I'll try it:) thanks for the tips.

I've been really bad today, was enjoying my massage but my nose got all stuffed up so kinda ruined the experience a bit, then as soon as I'm outside or indoors with the windows open I cannot stop sneezing.

    I take Loratadine suspension.

I know there will be a lot of pollen around on my big day so my sister and I will have to really dose ourselves up and hope for the best.
