with only 5 months to go until our wedding we have decided to postpone until next may now. due to not being able to afford to save even a penny a week at the moment. it is upsetting that we have had to change the date as its the date we really had our hearts set on. but unless we have a miracle and somehow get 3-4k in the the next 5 months it aint gonna happen.
weve only paid out £275 in deposits and should hopefully be able to get £125 of that back.
weve nearly finished paying for our rings and my dress has been paid for so thats something we dont have to budget for now.
im thinkin of maybe starting again from scratch with the venue as i was 100% keen on it anyway.
but its one thing i havent got to worry about anymore so the decision has taken a weight off my shoulders

why dont u keep what u have paid for and just change the date and keep payin on things as and when u can? x u will get there hun dont worry its hard and its alot of money were in same situation at minute but i know by end of this month we will hopefully be bac to been ok x

thats what were hoping to do. its only 125 for the venue so hopefully theyll just change our date and 150 on photographer but not sure what they'll do. i was going to try and get a loan for about 4k but h2b said no as its just something else we have to pay out.

yeh hopefully. thats why im kinda glad we havent paid loads of deposits, i said after h2b lost his job that im not booking anything until he gets another and he hasnt found anything yet hence why were changing date. thanks hun. x

thats what h2b said, even tho it would only be for about 3-4k. im just dreading the 26th may this year now cus i know ill be thinking all day ' id be doing my hair right now' and 'id be saying my vows right about now'
thats the only down side to it :(
but this way i know we will have a better wedding than if we done it this year.

aw thats a shame for you hun, but just think of it as "i would have been having my hair done now, BUT instead of all the stress and worry of money, i've got another 12 months to plan it to perfection" :) hope it all works out for you both xx

It does suck on the day knowing that you would have been getting married but it's definitely nice to be able to make your day perfect! We postponed by a year too and it's definitely been worth it!

yeh thats true ziggy, like i have another 12 months to get my body to a size 12, its only another 2-3 inches but it all counts. i dont know whats gonna happen about my dress though as its going to be in the shop in april this year.

Let them know you have changed your date they might keep it for you until your new date or they might keep it until you can find a nice dress friendly place to keep it!

I've had my old dress since April and it's wrapped up in tissue inside a box £11 from IKEA! :) has kept it mostly crease free and also stops our kitten from sleeping on it... She likes sleeping on my things...
