Apart from viewing our venue 3 times and meeting our wedding cordinator once we havent actually spoken to anyone about our wedding and what we need to do other than through emails to our venue or through you lovely people on here...i have no idea what i am doing so i am hoping someone on hear can shine a light. has anybody else met up with their venue to discuss what they want, numbers menu etc...or am i just getting ahead of myself, i realise i cant discuss numbers until i get my Rsvp's back, but when do we talk about the smaller details, when do you have to let them know what menu we have decided on? i know these are questions i should be asking them but everytime i send an email with a list of questions half of them dont get answered and when i do get e reply i feel like they are just fed up of hearing from me, i feel like i am havin to email them everyday because i never get a proper answer. Someone said we meet up 6 weeks before but is that it, it doesnt seem like much time to me but then ive never dome this before so maybe that is plenty of time, i just feel like there isnt much comunication but maybe there doest need to be at this stage. Am i just panicking about nothing at this stage???

i got the menu choices before i booked! however i wont decide on them till june and i get married in end of july! thats when we will be going through the days plan with the venue i hope this hellps and puts your mind at rest a little :) xx
CommentAuthorJakesmummy
oh well thats at the most 8 weeks then isnt it, yes that helps a little thanks, i'm thinking 6 weeks that not very long lol i am a panicker haha x
CommentAuthorWifey2be
hahaha yeahh i know what you mean but your be fine.....and 6 to 8 weeks before is still good and the venue should work around your times for the service, the photos etc so i should worry about it.. and if your not getting answers by email then call them :) remmeber your the customer and the customer is always right haha x

I've been to our venue yesterday, and decided on menus, given rough number already and arranged little details with them, but all that cause I am really impatient and need to get things done when I decide. They aren't a traditional wedding venue, their main business is being a restaurant, which in a way is great cause they said they only need final numbers something like a week before, but I will give them a month before
Soon to be Mrs Gary Doublé
Everything is now booked
Getting really stressed and excited now
Thats my problem, i am VERY impatient, and i like to know that thing are organised when i have decided on them lol x

We organised everything by email and phone calls because we got married 130 miles from home. Before we booked we were given the menue choices (had 9 for each course and we had to choose 5 for each course) because we visited to look round.
We visited the venue 3 months before the wedding to finalise menu choices, table layout etc - but only because we were in the area to submit our M10 forms and thought it was better to do everything in person.
A few weeks before the wedding is plenty of time to give the venue - after all they're used to weddings so most venues can accommodate any ideas and changes easily.

Hiya,
We are actually booked in for a meeting with our venue tomorrow evening - Our venue require 50% of the estimated final cost 6 months before the wedding date, ...she said if i have any other questions etc she would be happy to answer them, but did want to know who were our suppliers, (florist, cake , decorations etc) so off i went to think of some things i want to sort - or tell her about .....ooops 2 sides of A4 paper later - she will be sorry she asked me! hahaha!
I have to be organised! simples :)
they require final numbers/veggie and allergy details/menu and wine choices 4 weeks before hand with the final payment and our table plan need sto be with them at least a week before (even tho i am making my own, but i guess thats how they know who is veggie/highchairs etc) xxx hope thats of some help |:) xx

my cousin is the hotel manager where i got married so everything was talked about in loads of time and he kept telling me not to panic and normally they dont meet up with the couples until 4-6 weeks before xx
CommentAuthorJakesmummy
I think I may try ringing again just to put my mind at ease, may be she may actually answer my questions then, but it seems that 6 weeks before is the norm so that at least puts my mind at rest slighly xx thanks ladies xx

We met up with ours last Saturday and sorted menus, chair covers and sash colours also a rough estimate of evening guests as we only having a small amount during the day and they have all confirmed they are coming. We have a estimated bill of 50% to pay at the end of March and the final bill is to be paid six weeks before when we have final numbers. We have met the co-ordinator twice as she likes to get to know you and what sort of thing you like. We then meet again in March and end of July to sort out table settings etc. x
It's great to say i get married this year September 1st 2012

On looking around they gave us a wedding pack with menues and other bits of info etc. They said they'll get in touch to arrange a meeting about 8 weeks prior to the big day where we can give menu options and rough numbers. also to iron out the finer detaisl and pass on and other supplier info. There will then be a quick meeting 3 weeks before where we give final numbers and confirm table plan and other set up bits and bobs. Invoice to be paid a fortnight before :) they did say they were available to answer any questions at anytime we want to ask them and they've been true to their word :) can't fault them so far. Keeping fingers crossed lol

I live in lancashire and Im getting married in scotland near H2B's family. So everything is being done by phone and email. He said they need final number about 2 -4 weeks before (and we have to have paid in full 2 weeks before). I asked if I could change the menus as neither me or H2B really like everything on any of them. They have been really good and said yes but they need to know the final menu 4 - 6 weeks before the wedding.
They have recommended that if we are in the area to make an appointment to go and see them as it is easier to do it face to face, but if we can't manage it a meeting the on week of the wedding will be fine to set a room and show how things will happen. So I think you will be fine hun, dont panik just enjoy the planning as hopefully you will only do this once xx

I arranged a meeting with my venue after I put my deposit down, as I knew I wanted to get married there. I wrote down everything in a note book that I wanted to ask, so that I didn't forget anything and came away really happy.

We met with ours last week. They usually contact people 6-8 weeks before but I called them and they were happy to do it earlier. Helps me feel a bit more organised and I know what's going out. Give them a call and see what they say. We got confirmation through the post this morning of all the details and menu etc :) xx
CommentAuthorbridalmiss
We met with ours twice when we went to view and then to bring back the signed contract, other than that we have met with the caterers, had a tasting, decided on the menu etc - we've popped in now and again to remind ourselves of the layout but we have a final logistics meeting with them 4-6 weeks before the wedding, as well as meeting with our caterer on the same day - so I wouldn't panic too much, if in down then give your co-ordinator a call?
CommentAuthorLisaS
i have my meeting with my venue tomorrow night to asort out dates for tastings ect so i would say its about the right time xx

We've met with ours twice since booking the wedding but had an email off our co-ordinator to say we'll need to go in at end of March (4 months before) to go over finer details. then we'll supply our numbers and menu choices 8 weeks before when we pay 50% of the remaining balance. I wouldn't worry about it hun

i booked my wedding venue at a wedding fayre the other month and they gave me a wedding pack to look through. im only having a half day in the venue as im getting married in the afternoon and the wedding booklet only states the prices for full day bookings. i rang the venue up and the wedding coordinator said that the half day price all depends on the type of buffet food i choose, any drinks packages and the numbers of the guests. she said the best thing to do is try to work out a rough estimate of my guest numbers and the packages that i want and to come in and see her so that she can organise a price. my mum says im daft for wanting to know now but i have to save up and pay off in installments as no one is giving me and h2b any financial help lol. i just wanted to know a rough idea of the price so that i knew what i was saving up for haha xx

Thats fair enough Kelly, you need to know what your aiming for dont you. I want to meet up with ours before the 6 weeks prior so we can give her rough numbers as we hsve a rough price in our head and eant to make sure its rught, we dont want to get ther with a price in our head ans they give us a price for twice as much.
Lol Anastacia...i adnit it myself, I am haha
Well i have had an email back and she said we meet 6 weeks prior to discuss menu, numbers, table plans etc and if i have any more questions to just email her but if we would like to meet up before then to give her a ring. however her message did read a tad sarcatic, maybe its just how i read it because i feel like ive just hammered her with question lol. maybe i'll hold off on the questions for a week or so. give her a break from bridezilla hahaha xx
