i have just received my dress from china absolute steal at £56! its really heavy beautiful quality stitching. The brooch that is on the front (it has a blue empire line leading to a blue train) in the centre of the line was tacky but at the price i paid for the dress im happy to replace it with one i like. My wedding is defo budget but when i tried the dress on i felt anything but budget!! (but i will admit i have bought it this early because i was unsure about what quality it would be and thought for that price i paid it wouldnt be the end of the world if i hated it turns out was a great decision :) )

One BIG day will lead to lots of little happy days !!

Not sure if I have posted on here, but I got my bridesmaids dresses from China. They were wonderful, the quality was great, the price even better. Depending on the detailing on a wedding dress it could be a good move, mine had detail on it that would have looked naff if a replica.

I did consider this for my bridesmaids dresses but the bridesmaids werent too convinced by this as they wanted to make sure the dress suited them before hand (which I could understand). Therefore I have comprimsed lol!

I found a UK website that has bridesmaid dresses at teh same price as ordering from abroad and has a showroom so they can try them on. The Showroom is an hours drive away from me (I dont drive) so I then said if they want to go and try them all, they would have to get there so its now planned for the end of next month to try in the dress that I have chosen. One bridesmaid was being a bit of a pain (the main one that wanted to try the dress first lol) but the others just ignored her lol! The positive to having 6 bridesmaids!!

okay i have just done what every self respecting B2B does when her shoes arrive and her dress is there and the o/h is out1 you try it all on and tbh right now im a little tearful but in a great way i am so not a girly girl hate dresses but i looked in the mirror and burst into tears £56 dress from china from the bay of e and all i can say is its beautiful and makes me feel beautiful. i had planed to have my jeans ready for the evening do to get back to my tom boy ways now instead im going to get on with my exercise and work like mad to give that dress the body it deserves and the danger is i just might never take it off!!!! one very happy B2B and the best bit is im not sking either xxxxx

Hi all I love hearing all these lovely china dress stories. I need real honest opinions now. If you had/have a china dress what mark out of 10 would you give it? 10 being absolutely identical looking & fantastic quality & 1 being cheap looking imitation. I have fell in love with 2 m@gg!€ dresses which are from an older collection & I can't find them now so I'm looking at my options. I can't afford extra spends so I'm scaredof buying a china dress, hating it & then having no money to buy a new1. TIA

well i got mine on the bay of e and i will be totally honest i would give it an 8/10 for others for me its a 10/10 but thats because its slightly lighter and not much but enough i add which means for me its easier to wear ,the needle work is fantastic and the quality of the material used to make the dress is lovely. The brooch it had attached to the front was tacky so i replaced that with one i prefered. the time scale to get to me was alittle over 2 weeks and i paid not taxes (i know some people say they have had to pay when its delivered) the person contacted me immediately after it was delivered and asked me if everything was ok and if not he e-mailed a return label tomake sure it got back to him free of charge !! to be refitted. it was not needed because its just perfect. I know there are some horroe stories so i would suggest check feedbacks make sure the company has a fairly long history especially if using bay of e! make sure they have been registered a few years that way you know the feedback is fair and not a company that renames itself everythime they get a certain amount of negative feedback! speak to them before you buy to get an idea of what they are like to contact and remeber you are covered by the bay of e guarantee if its not as advertised! i e-mailed before and asked if it was not perfect would they pay postage back to china which is why i got label if they agree and then dont e-bay will refund postage too! hope this helps in my opinion i wouldnt do anything different even if i could afford the ridiculous shop prices :)

Hi Laura, any chance you could post pics of your dress? also, sorry for the personal question but would you mind telling me what size you are? I am a size 18 and was trying.on dresses around size 24! I am worried the china dresses won't offer the same support as the designer ones.....

i have only got the pics from the site of the dress at the moment i cant take pics of me in it as have friends on here who cant see yet!! i am also a size 18 and thought exactly the same! but it does an great job withput me feeling i am going to rip the seams out! to be fair i will also wear a corset underneath but thats just preference as i like to feel as small as possible!!! i am desperately dieting also but the dress is easily adaptable to size changes as its free at the hips and lace -up. I know people will say you cant possibly get the same quality and i guess they are right but it depends on you, the quality of mine is lovely and im totally happy with it ,it's perfectly wearable and makes me feel great its just the right weight heavy but not uncomfortable. (some of the shop ones weighed a tonne and i couldnt imagine being in them all day!) i tried on styles in shops then thought well if im going to buy a stupid price dress then i can afford to try a £60 one first and im so pleased i did ihave saved a fortune and i have not compromised on how it makes me feel! I just took the price £60 of the original dress budget so if i hated it i still had the rest of the budget to find another one :)

I have posted on here before but for all the Newbies who haven't read the whole thing, this is my story!!!

I tried on the dress in a shop but it was £800.
Looked on the Bay for a copy.
Which I found but didn't actually order it until 3 months ago!!
I checked out their feedback reviews and was satisfied.
I e mailed asking them loads of questions which they responded to quickly and politely.(Don't forget there is quite a time difference)
I placed my order and waited..........
It was dispatched and they sent me details of the delivery, which I tracked on line.
    4 days later it arrived!!!
I nervously ripped open the package, tore thru another bag and undid another bag to reveal my dress.......
    At first I thought WT......
Then I realised it was inside out, phew!!!
It has a built in bra, lined beautifully and better than the dress I tried on!!!
They actually sewed beads and sequins on the bodice to give it a bit of sparkle!!!
The one in the shop didn't have that.

I don't have any pictures as cant up load any as only on my iPhone :-(

But, I would reccomend the company I went with in China as they were brilliant!!!!

I also bought my BM dresses from China, tho a different company and they too were amazing.
Brand new with tags and in bags for £20 each!!!

So, I hope my review has helped???

Ohh and my dress cost £90, tho had to pay an extra £17 for tax.

And, in 2 weeks time, I get to wear it!!!

    :-)

hi everyone, after reading so many stories on here I am 50/50 about whether to order my BM dresses from china, do I get one and see what its like then hope that the others are the same quality or do I just reduce my BM's (I have 5) and pay more for dresses. I could cry cos we are really stretched on the budget and I just want everyone to feel comfortable and look good.

Any suggestions on any great copy dresses would be gratefully recieved

I really wouldn't pay the money they want over here.

No way would I pay what they wanted in the shop.

I have a gorgeous dress that I will wear for 10 hours.
Why pay over £xxxxx for a dress??

Mine is great quality, so glad I took the risk!!

We're going to another 2 Weddings this year and both Brides have spent well over £800 on their dresses.
One of them was a bit gutted when she saw pics of mine as hers is similar!!!

second dress i've bought and have to say it is amazing.

came in a tiny box so was a bit apprehensive to open it at first, but was really surprised by what was inside.

dress is quite heavy and bead work and stitching are immaculate. even with duty and VAT added on i'd say it was a bargain as it looks worth much more than i actually paid :)

paid £200 (£61 of that was vat and import tax) x

She who can't be named has a measurement form on her website so I sent her all of those. She's making a child version of the dress for my daughter to wear (the adult ones are strapless with built in bras, my daughters will just have spaghetti straps on and no built in bra) so I did need to be exact with the measurements, especially for that one.
Just hoping it turns out well.

I ordered a wedding dress from a china website - that looks extremely professional. Unfortunately that's where it ends...I checked all the details, including refund policy and it hasn't worked out for me. The dress was really badly made - lace was hanging off the bodice literally just flapping around, the hem of the dress is grey (it looks worn to me!), there is a huge hole where the belt attaches and there were loose threads throughout the dress which I have to pull out myself. There's also little bobbles across the lace, so if I pull on it, it would fray the lace. I am so disappointed as Ive heard so many people buy their dream dress online with no problem! I went to two bridal shops and got measured - both gave the same measurements but when my dress arrived, it is actually way too big for me. I would need to spend a small fortune just to get it washed and finished properly by a tailor so instead emailed them with my complaints. They were very fast at responding, however after lots of emails to and fro, have only offered to refund 35% of the cost. That to me is ludicrous since it is clearly a damaged item - I'm in the process now of chasing it up with paypal - here's hoping. I was so disappointed with the dress that I had to buy another one! The dress cost roughly £200 so it wasn't a lot - however its still £200 that could have gone towards something else. I have been told that 'inches' here is not the same as 'inches' in China so please beware when ordering. If anyone wants to know the website I bought from, please just message. I hope you all get the dress of your dreams!

*** UPDATE*** Got the bridesmaid dress from 'she who can't be named' It is beautiful!! Lovely weight to the dress, stitching perfect, the colour is ecactly as the sample swatch I was given. The only negative thing is that the sizing is a little on the big side and slightly too long. But all in all, really pleased, well worth the money I paid for it and would highly recommend her!
