ok i have just been watching wild weddings and a couple of things have gotten me thinking

why would the mother in law be determined to smash a plate in the door way is this a tradition anyone has heard of?
what happens with a unity candle and what special meaning does it have?
a tie ring to hold the rings, is anyone having that or rings tied to anything, i have a tip make sure scissors are available incase it is tied too tight.
arriving in an ice cream truck tacky or creative?
reception in a bowling alley? would anyone consider it?
married on a private jet whilst flying. classy or ott?
getting married in a wet suit? what do you think

just a bit of fun. but thanks to that show i have seen it all

I think a wedding should reflect you as a couple- and if wetsuits/ ice cream vans/ bowling alleys etc are your thing, why not? Its not what you do, its how you do it.

    ok....

Smashing a plate is a greek tradition to bring luck
The unity candle is supposed to be lit every year on your anniversary
No idea about tying rings but i do know my ring pillow has ribbons to tie them on so they dont fall off and end up rolling away
Ice cream truck - creative lol i've heard worse (read once about an undertaker arriving in a hearse)
Cause bowling is fun and thats obviously "their thing" quite original if you ask me
    Married on a jet... OTT
Wetsuit, many people get married while scuba diving so not that unusual

Is the ring thing where they tie their rings together on the hands? Saw it at a wedding when I was a teenager.

no it was a big wooden ring with the rings tied to it but they had tied the knot so tight he couldnt get the rings off and someone had to go and find the couple some scissors before they could continue'

the wetsuit thing was wierd and was in the same wedding as the bride in the ice cream truck, his wetsuit kinda had an image like a sorta suit on the front i think it was wierd

Im having unity candles...2 small ones and a large church candle (pics on my profile) usually at the start of the ceremony bride and groom light one of the smaller candles each (representing each family) once they are married they then light the center pillar candle together symbolizing two families becoming one. On occasions sometimes mil and mob will light the two candles at the beginning! x
