Last weekend I noticed that the diamonds in my ring were spinning so I took it to a jewellers who told me I couldn't just tighten the claws as the ring was too heavy at the bottom and this is causing stress to the top of it. I phoned the company we got it from who told us to send it back. Yesterday I sent it special delivery - which I have checked they received it this morning. I dot know what's going to happen as the jeweller mentioned to me they need to add metal to te top of it :( I dot want the ring looking different. But in the meantime of waiting to find out what they are going to do I have no engagement ring :( feels so strange not having it on and self conscious of the fact it's not there :( I have been told once they have looked at it they will call me or email but it could take up to 2 weeks before I have it back :( sorry to rant just really upset :(

i had problems with mine too and it had to be left at the jewellers.... it was killing me as they did the ring the next day but with it being in west kirby and I had to sign the ring out then I couldnt get down there and had to wait nearly a week. You do get used to it though and you get excited about getting it back. Hope it gets sorted quickly for you.

Awwh! I know what you mean. One of the claws on my ring was damaged and it had to be sent off for a few days, I felt lost. It's my most treasured posession, I neve take it off. However, you don't want to lose the diamonds that would be far worse.

Why not buy a fake ring to wear in the mean time? I'm lucky in having my mum's ring to wear as a spare when mine has to go back in before the wedding for polishing and revaluation.
My engagement ring one of the diamond came loose so they had to keep it at jewellers for over a week, i was so upset and felt really naked without one so my h2b went to market and got a cheapy ring that i could wear temporarily until my original one came back and i felt so much better and it was a sweet thought ive kept it for memories : ) xx

Well we bought it from a shop in birmingham at the jewellery quarter so I was worried about posting it and was tempted to take it up there however I was told they would have to post t back to me anyway so there seemed little point. I spose I could were a different ring on my finger not sure what though I do have a ring that h2b bought me after we had been going out a year maybe I could wear that although it's not really engagement ring like lol

The ring h2b bought for me off market wasnt very engagementy but it did the job and made me feel engaged again and was a nice keepsake in the end : ) xx

ive been without mine since jan!! although back today... if they say 2 weeks that will fly because at the end of the day better to get it fixed before it gets worse and you loose the diamond and cant find it ... my E ring had to be altered to accomodate my wedding ring and they have made the setting bigger etc but i cant tell the difference they have doenthat good a job... so im sure it will come back as good as new ith hardly any difference... and when it comes back it will feel like the day you got it again.... so dont worry it will fly by

when my ring was damage and needed repairing i found a lovely ring in half prce jewellers for 20.00 it workd the trick ppl thought it was a new ring an it looked lovlely. never told em it was a fake. xx

sam73 You can get a very good fake ring from Marks & Spencers.
They have a large range for about £18 - £50.
They are also good for wearing on holiday so you don't lose the real one on the beach or in the sea.

I have a silver one with a cz stone that is one size bigger for holidays - although the last time went on holiday we got back to find that the back door had been left unlocked while we were away! Luckily no-one had tested it and all our stuff was ok, the insurance wouldn't have paid out as we'd left the house insecure.

I know we're cr4p! On mother's day we went to see both our mums - we were out for at least six hours and when we got back I found the side door which is visible from the street had been left OPEN! We're terrible at making sure doors are locked and lights are off when we leave!

I went to pick h2b up from work tonight - and just as I pulled into the car park I noticed my ring was missing!! There was blind panic and I had to come clean to him that I had no idea where it was (I've been out shopping all day and not in Leeds either).
I had to retrace my steps around the house and near the car - and h2b searched the sink (I'd been washing up just before leaving the house) but no luck. I'd just about given up when he looked down at the carpet in front of the sofa (where I sit with my laptop lol) and there it was. I've been soooo lucky - but still don't know how it's managed to come off as it isn't really that big (it twists round but never usually comes off). Now I'm guarding it with my life lol.
