    Hello everyone!

Has anyone has a wedding at hazelwood castle near Leeds?
We have seen it and are just saving for the £1500 deposit (steep i know). Due to a tour of China in June we wont be booking until September so there is no rush, but i wanted some honest opinions. We are very flexable and want an out of season wedding (december) but the prices we have been discussing dont include any discount for that, so i am hoping when i have the money all saved up we can begin to haggle.

What did the day run like, were the staff nice, was the food nice, are the drink expensive etc. I have read reviews online but they seem to be just about the hotel!

    Any comments would be appriciated!

i haven't been to a wedding there but I've been for dinner there! lol, and there was a wedding on while we were there. The one thing I thought was that the food was very posh - you know, pretty patterns with food but not much to actually eat! I don't know if the food provided for weddings would be the same though? Other than that I can't help! sorry! It is a stunningly beautiful building inside though, I can see why you want to get married there. We couldn't even consider it as it was well out of our price range :o( xxx

Where are you getting married?? We have seen about 10 venues, but this was the only one we had the 'wow' factor with. If the decide not to discount we may have to go elsewhere!

we're getting married at York Pavilion Hotel - its a Georgian building, looks really small from the outside but it quite large when you get inside. It's the only one we saw and thought 'this is the one' - mainly because the ceremony room is so pretty. Its got a bit of a boutique style hotel feel to it, we love it :o)

Our friends got married at Hazelwood castle last weekend and although we couldnt attend, it looked amazing and a good time was had by all. Friendly, staff, good food and great rooms were the reports. Its very very expensive and they also hired all 14 rooms out for their guests to stay over.

I went to a wedding there, it was lovely. The staff were great, the food was lovely. It was a lovely atmosphere. Defiantly worth booking in my opinion, if we lived closer we would have considered it ourselves.

Oh and sorry about all the posts but just realised I missed the one about the drinks, we never actually bought the drinks as they had paid for a free flow package for the day guests, by the time people were coming for the evening do I had already had enough to drink and my fiancé was driving so he wasn't drinking either. I've looked at their packages just out of interest and I honestly think they're very reasonable for what they offer.
