After reading a post by MrsT2Be and listening to the song done by a harpist Im actually in awe I would love a harpist to play a song/songs at our wedding..would love a tune when walking down the aisle but know I'll be crying even more if I did especially if the song has meaning to us-lol

Is anyone else paying for a harpist at their wedding? Are you having any particular songs? How much is it costing you?

    Sarah xx

    Planning to perfection <3

I would love a harpist, I would have Canon D major to walk down the aisle and then All I Ask Of You from Phantom of the Opera as our exit music. I am a huge Phantom fan and I used to sing all of the songs from the show!
I have had a look around on websites and i think the cheapest i found was around £275 which we wont really be able to justify (or afford!) lol xx

I had a harpist :) It was beautiful to walk into her playing instead of a CD player! She also played whilst our guests were seated, whilst we signed the register and as we left ...... She was a student and played the harp all her life so made money to fund her uni fee's! She charged us £120 for 3 hours.

Can anyone help I am considering booking a harpist however she said to me that she mainly plays Irish traditional music since I am not a major expert I wondered what she meant?? I didn't want to sound thick but just wondered if anyone had any idea? What I mean is I class some Irish music really quite upbeat an jolly (nothing wrong with it) rather than say chilled and relaxing?? Am I just assuming its real upbeat. Thanks xx

We are having a harpist at ours for ceremony and wedding breakfast. Our harpist also sings so going to have some with singing and without.

She also said if there is something in particular we want she can learn it for us. Most harpists should be able to play anything. Being Welsh she plays a lot of Welsh songs and sings them too. We are going to have a combination of music from (hopefully) dr who to nessa dorma to coldplay.

I have no idea about Irish traditional music, sorry. Maybe look around at others and see what they say.

we're having a harpist for our wedding reception - we too where in awe at the sound of the songs she played us and we know that people are just going to be loving it :)

we did want a string quartet but it was around £500 for an hour - harpist is a fraction of the price!!
