Wedding Forum - Happily married and back from an amazing...

I can't believe that this time two weeks ago I was stood outside church greeting all of my guests after our wedding!

We had a really busy week in the run up to the wedding, and a couple of things (like bags for the kids activitiy packs) didn't arrive so my sister had to run round to several different supermarkets to sort it out, but other than that, things went great! The weather had been really bad in the run up to the day so we were really worried (flood alerts were even issued) but on the day it didn't rain until we were heading to the reception venue, and it stopped several times and the sun came out so we still got photos outside!

The day started very early with bucks fizz and scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and then the morning absolutely flew by with everyone having hair and make up done! We got to the church right on time and the service was lovely - lots of people have told us it is the nicest church wedding they've ever been to! Then we did manage to get a few nice photos outside before the rain started!

The reception was great, all of my decorations and ideas looked lovely and many people told me I had thought of everything! Even some of the things that my (now) husband told me were unnecessary, like boxes of flip flops, went down great. We had such an amazing day! The only thing that I regret is that I didn't look at my h2b walking up the aisle at first as I was so busy looking at all of the other guests!!

We've had our official photos back already so I'll upload some in a minute.

The next morning we got a train to gatwick to fly to the maldives, but first the hotel put breakfast on in the function room for all of the wedding guests who had stayed over so everyone was there to see us off, which was lovely! My friend gave me a balloon, which I took on the train, and we ended up with a free bottle of wine!! We then spent a week in the maldives which was amazing, I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about it!

It all sounds perfect!! I'm glad it went so well, now to enjoy married life! Put some pics up soon x

awww thank you :) for our service we're hoping to have a memory candle and from that mine and h2b's mum will light a candle each after the welcome speech bit, then after we've said our vows we light a unity candle together from our family candles. leaving the memory candle and until candle lit :) x

Such goregous picutres. Congratulations! The comment that I will keep with me is about regretting not looking at your h2b as you walk down the aisle.

When I watch wedding programmes that is my favourite bit, the grooms face when the bride enters the church. I will probably want to cry when I walk in but will make sure I give him a wee glance and a cheeky smile.
