I have been lurking and posting a little, but thought it was about time I introduced myself!
Not sure how I missed this category, or I would have done it earlier!
We will have been engaged 3 years in January and finally set a date and booked the church last month for June 4th 2016.
We have bought our rings, decided on a powder blue and fuschia colour scheme, probably with butterflies and sparkle. I have already started making bouquets and centre pieces, mainly to see if this was going to be a viable option. Having loved every minute I want to put my creative personal stamp on as much as possible.
My daughter, my 2 sisters and their two daughters are going to be my bridesmaids and maid of honour and I my oldest son will be giving me away as my dad is no longer with us. Still need to find important jobs for the youngest two boys who will be 12 and 3. Since booking and deciding on colours everything else has really started to come together!
Good luck everyone, look forward to hearing everyone's wedding ideas!

Thank you ladies :-)
Trying my hardest to be organised so we can pay off everything slowly and have enough time to make as much as is humanly possible. Having 4 children doesn't leave much spare time and I have recently become a mature student which consists of tonnes of homework!
We will get there though!
So glad I attempted bouquets early because I made the mistake of leaving then in the sun and they have faded! I can reuse the flowers for venue decorations, but will need to do the bouquets again!

Hi Carrie, your colour scheme sounds lovely! Not heard of that scheme before but often, it is the ones you haven't seen much of before which stand out the most! It sounds like you have a lot planned and sorted out already! I planned to start making our decorations myself around about now but still haven't made a start on them. We are going with a lilac and lemon theme as our wedding takes place the day after easter monday 2017 x
Gorgeous colour theme, perfect for the time of year too!!
I really wanted fuschia, but didn't want to over do it because it's such a vivid colour and thought it might end up OTT and ghastly. Choosing a colour to go with it was actually quite difficult. Originally I was going to have bridesmaids in black dresses and fuchsia sashes, but my mum talked me into at least considering different colours particularly for summer.
I down loaded colour matching apps and spent hours matching colours and googling ideas for the short listed colours. Bright orange and fuchsia was a close contender, but I got a card when I left work in July and it was the powder blue and fuchsia. That was me sold and h2b agreed when I showed him some examples. When I figure out how to upload to my profile I will put some colour scheme pictures on there.
I don't think it sounds as nice as it is, but that is also what makes it different and I do like to be different!!

Fuschia and powder blue sounds actually beautiful. It will be well worth doing things yourself, it will save so much money. Regarding the boys, the 3 year old would be adorable as a page boy or ring bearer provided he's happy to walk down the aisle in front of everyone. The older one is a bit old, but perhaps junior usher would work.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

Hi, and welcome! Sounds like you've done a fair bit already, which is good if you're DIYing anything; I left SO many things so late and it was such a rush getting them done! Because clearly I love stress ;-)
Your colour scheme sounds lovely but :-)
