How did you all decide on what you were having in your hair? I have hair trials in jan but i have also seen a gorgeous hair comb on ebay. Do I get it and ask my stylist to practice with it.
Thanks Naomi xx

I would sweet. Have just put my hair trial off as my veil and hair comb aren't here yet.

I'm having an updo - not quite decided on style but yes I want to take along a hair clip/comb for my trial when I have it.

I'm having my hair up as it will be too hot not too. I suppose I'll just shop around and get something from the bay or wherever when I see what I like.

Thanks ladies. I might buy what I have seen on ebay and that's at least a start. My veil can be ordered within 3 days so still have plenty time.
Another random question are you buying parents' gifts?
Mine was random, my hair and makeup lady chose one for the hair style I wanted and it just went really well and was cheap.

Well that's it some hair pieces can be over £100 which I don't really want to pay. The one I have seen on ebay is £13 brand new. Think I want an up do as getting married in july and don't want hair sticking to my face.

I would definitely get it so your hair stylist can do a 'proper' trial and you'd have a much better idea of how it would look on the day, especially at just £13! If it turns out you don't like it then that's not much money wasted. I will definitely look to have my hair accessories all sorted for my hair trial.
And yes we are definitely buying parents gifts. Not because they have contributed but also just because they are our parents and deserve a special thank you just for that reason alone!

Good thinking. I know £13 isn't a lot considering the cost of other things haha. Yeah were going to buy our parents gifts too. Are you buying them separate ones or a gift between the both sets of parents?
xx
CommentAuthorFlossie
Both sets of our parents are divorced and re-married/re-partnered so they have to have separate lol x

Ah sorry I see. Hmm will have to have a think what will be best. Might be nice to have separate so then they cant fight over it haha. x

A joint one could be nice though, maybe restaurant/hotel/spa vouchers or something so that they could use them together as a couple?

We bought gifts for parents, flowers for my mum, dad kinda shared the flowers lol and a card, then bottle of whiskey for FIL and a card.
MIL passed away before I met hubby but if she was there then she would have got flowers too and then probably nothing for FIL, for some reason focus is on the mothers - don't know why.

I knew almost instantly what I was having for my wedding. I am having a couture piece from mel@an0ly m@gpi3 ... she's designed me a "labyrinth" headress that Sarah wears at the masquearde ball. Its has an appearance of vines and webs twisting through the hair. Its beatiful. I get that in June. though I paid my deposit. To be honest it's a little extravagant at £225.... but I couldnt find anything similar and her work is amazing.
Regarding presents for family......... do we HAVE to do that??? Theres only really my mother whos putting money towards my dress. We dont get babysitting from either parents and it took me to have their first grandchild for them to even like me. Is it a tradition I need to keep.... ???

I've been looking at head pieces from the same place Stephanie, they are STUNNING! But so expensive! There is a particular one I really like the look of but I don't know if it's worth the cost.

I'm considering it a hand me down piece. There are no inheritance pieces from my family. No rings. Jewellery. Furniture. So i think it would be nice to start this tradition.

Go for it Stephanie. If it is really what you want....
I know gifts are hard. Usually is whiskey for the fathers and flowers for the mothers. My mam doesn't really like spas haha and my other half's mam is really fussy about anything like that. Suppose anything that is just a small gesture will be ok. Afterall we are spending quite a bit already. Mam and Dad are paying for wedding reception but myself and other half are covering all the other costs.

Stephanie. I'm not looking on gifts as a contribution to the wedding but a thank you for bringing us up to be who we are.
Not sure what we will get them but maybe a restaurant voucher x
