..... can you tell h2b is away ....Ive been on here all day,lol but trying to sort out last bits I can do without him!

My dress is a lacey vintagey kind, Id bargained on my hair being long enough for a side messy bun with a flower but its only just on my shoulders so for any hair wise girls is that long enough and if not any suggestions for alternatives that will be in keeping with my vintagey dress or scottish castle venue?

Im going to have a trial but I only get an hour so would like to have a couple of ideas.

If it matters my hair is thick and red!

    Thank you

If your hairdress is good, she will be able to do anything. your hair length is good for a side bun, and sounds real nice to.... :) xxx

Try going into your local city. They usually have shops for Caribbean ladies who love hair extensions. (or they have them in Nottingham, Derby and Brum) You can get good quality extensions and they have them in most colours you can get your hair. They also do real hair that you can dye etc. You might pay a little more but it is worth it.

Ooooo Just another thought. Could you have something like feathers sticking out of it or something unusual? It would give you the look without needing the hair. You could have them in either ivory or your wedding colours. Your hair would be long enough to pin it around a doughnut and do it that way too.

I was a hairdresser hun and not many hair up do's are done without a hairpiece. Debenhams have a good range if you need one in a hurry and some reputable hair stylists stock them, there is so much choice and they are sold everywhere. I wear them daily with chopsticks and they are the cheap ones for a fiver from boots! The hardest bit will be matching your colour. If you had longer I'd give a different answer but your stylist should be able to make you look fab with bun fillers etc which she should have in the salon. You'll look amazing I'm sure of it :o)

Mine sounds similar, it's at my shoulders but not quite long / thick enough for the side bun. Instead I am having it swept over to one side and pinned... just a thought. x

Unfortunately not!! It was quite loose and had loads of hair grips in but looked quite long with it not being curled up into a bun. I have naturally curly hair and it looked really effective. x

    Sounds lovely.
Trouble is for me that mines wavy but can get a little wild if not straightened so it may need putting up and tucking away! If I cant find a matching piece to make the bun Ill prob just go for a chignon and still have my flower in the pleat..... otherwise I may end up looking like the wild woman of borneo esp with Nov weather and after being flung around to a ceilidh band!!!

How about a french plait on the one side of your head, with a pretty flower that matches in it? x

Mmm, tricky. Why don't you try one of those doughnuts that you wrap your own hair round? They're really easy to use and you don't have to worry about matching it. Your hair should be long enough to create a loose bun with one of those. They're only a few pound, and your flower would stay in nicely too. x
