I wonder if any of you can help me.

I have been trying to grow my hair in preperation for the wedding for months but have not suceeded in getting the long lucious locks hoped for! my hair is just over the shoulder in length and is very fine. I want hair extensions not only to add a bit of length but also to add a bit of body. Ive been looking on the internet and have come accross so many differnet kinds of extensions. I was wondering if any of you have had extensions? and could you reccomend a sort and a good salon to go to. I live in north west wales. Thank you

Hey Hun I have the same problem as you and I too am going to use hair extensions though I have been warned off having them done in a salon as they can really ruin your hair and they are very expensive, instead I have gone for some really good clip in extensions and have dyed them the same colour as my hair they are really comfortable to wear and as long as you get human hair extensions they will blend in lovely with your natural hair! if you take a look at my photos in the 'Hair Trial' album you can see them curled in with my own hair and you can't even tell!

i have had extenstions. i had weaved in ones. they do smaill plait(sp) and then weave the exenstion in. i had them for about 2 months but didnt really like them. took so long to wash, dry and straighten my hair. cost me £100! also i dont think they were done very well as you could see the weave which happens alot of if you have fine hair!

i personally wouldnt bother having them as it is more hassel than they are worth xx

Ok thank you girls, nicksy have been looking at clip in ones and those are probably the ones i will go for. il have a look at your photos. Did you have to buy them in a specific colour for you to be able to dye them? ive got light brown hair with blonde highlights so i will probably have to dye them for them to match also where did you get yours from? xxx

I am about to try clip in ones too - have ordered some and am waiting for them to arrive in the post. Elen, most of the sites do seem to do clip in ones that are brown with blonde highlights, so you never know, you might actually get some to match without having to dye them..... The ones I have bought are a light brown/blonde mix.

Defo try clip in ones, i was advised to get real hair ones and in a shop not off the net so you can get a better colour match (tho they can dye them for you)

Iv got to find some as h2b has just piped up he hated my hair trial pics (had hair up and to the side in curls) and wants me to have long natural looking waves.....the things i do to keep him happy.

my best friend always wears extensions but she buys the real hair clip in ones there about £40 and £10 for clips and you can dye them whatever colour and they blend in with your natural hair. No-one would ever know they arnt your hair they look that good x

I was given mine by my bridesmaid hun (but I bought my own ages ago on Bay of E but they don't match my hair anymore) and they were like a light brown colour I always dye my hair medium brown so I looked at videos on you tube of how to dye them and did them to match my colour (I had to do it 3 times mind before they were the right colour!) it was worth it in the end you need them to be lighter than your natural colour if your going to dye them though you can't dye darker ones lighter! if you have highlights might be worth asking a salon to dye them with high lights for you to match ? or like the other girls have said you could go to a shop for some to get a better match so you don't have to Faff with them :)

I wouldnt die them elen, it will ruin them and they are too delicate. Try and get some to match your hair,if you cant find highlighted ones, use a mix of brown and blonde
Def have clip ins and not glued ones as they ruin your hair. x

i am getting clip in extensions. i have long hair but im having quite tight curls so it shortens my hair loads so having clip in hair extensions, only costing me £40. The woman doing my hair and make up is getting them for me in my colour and is curling them for me xx

best thing to do it go in to a sallys salon and get omeone to match them up!when buying them off the internet you cant see the true colour(its hard enough matching them when you have the colout in your hand)

alot of gllue in hair ext are crap and pull out your hair ( racoon ext are bad fot this) but ihave had the great lengths glue in ones in (they are the ones cheryl cole nd katie price wear-have a look online) and i love them they last 7months (thats not coz there is anyhting wrong with them its just by then the hair wil have grown down too far) then you can have them put bk in after that. you cant even feel them in, you get a special brush to comb any knots out etc and theyare attached to the finest of strands- i was expecting my hair to just snap but they havent, even with a good tug ....nothing!

    great lengths- have a look!

im talking from professional point also as i am a hair dresser by trade!!

    xx

hi elen im a hairdresser and specialise in wedding hair you will be amazed at what a few added extensions can make to fine hair ask your hairdresser if she could recommend any local shops that sell the extenstions u will find that a lot of shopping centres will have stalls sellin real hair extenstions with plenty of colours to choose from and they are well worth the money x ps dont buy smythetic hair as this melts when put near heat such as tongs and straightners
