I had my trial nearly 2 weeks ago and before we left she said she'd send through a timetable for the day so we knew what time we'd need to all be in my hotel room for. She still hasn't sent it through, even after chasing her up last week. I need to know more for the photographer so he knows what time he needs to arrive etc. Surely it shouldn't take so long to work out what time we need to start?

I'm starting to get a little bit worried about her actually... she was really weird with me about where I had to have my veil, then she made me look really orange even though I'm quite fair skinned. When I told her I didn't like it she said "don't be silly, the browner the better". Errr, no!! I just hope she doesn't mess me around!

omg - the browner the better - omg i'd be freaking out!!! Really sorry to say this hunnie with your wedding only being two weeks away, but i think you need to find an alternative hair and beauty lady, the last thing you need on the day is to resemble an umpa lumpa :(

Thats the point of a trial, if you dont like it, go elsewhere. Sorry to be so blunt. Im very fair skinned so if my make-up ends up thick and orange I would look silly. Having said that, can you not take the intiative, work out the timings yourself and just send her them and say you want her there at XXX time? Id just say as I hadnt heard from her ive gone ahead and sorted it myself. Although if shes not responding not sure id want to use her anyway. That put me off a photographer as he never emailed back and when he did it was weeks later!

Only thing about going elsewhere is I've already paid her quite a large deposit so I can't lose it. All the photos of her other work are really nice too, I just think she's a bit over enthusiastic with the foundation!

The lady who does my nails recommended a foundation to me so I've been and had it colour matched so I'm just going to go armed with my own and let her do the rest because everything else was fine.

I think you might be right though CharlieBe-Cool - I'll try and work something out myself and just say to her "if I tell the photographer XX time, will that be ok"

When I was MOH for my friend the makeup lady was ace and said I'm here to do whatever you want if you want champagne ill get you champagne! Just remember you are paying her to do a job so she should do it how you want, be brave and tell her you don't like being too dark! X

If your not happy cancel, or you could tell her your issue and request a second trial. You say you've put a deposit down, but think of the cost and upset if your wedding photos and wedding day is ruined. X

please dont ask her if the timings ""if I tell the photographer XX time, will that be ok" " .....you are employing her therefore she needs to be there when you want her not when she feels is right

:o I would have told here where to go straight away! Get someone else in who actually knows what they are doing and who really does give two hoots that it is your wedding day and understands that it can be stressful enough without some silly bint messing you about!

Lol, yep. Just a slight nightmare Fern!

I can't cancel her as we've paid her quite a bit already so I'm just going to have to stick with her and make sure she doesn't leave on the day until I'm totally happy with what she's done. Just annoying I'm having to work out how long it's going to take her to do 4 people's hair and make up when it's something I've paid her to do!

I agree with the other's hun, she should be doing everything she can for you as 1:you're paying her and 2: you're the one who's going to give good or bad reviews to your family and friends, good luck xx

Find a new one! She's not listening to you and what you want, you dont want to be in streams of tears on your day and feeling self conscious or like a clown. maybe even go to a makeup counter in a departemt store and have a makeup lesson and just buy some lovely makeup and DIY? x

I would valentina, but as I said above - already paid her and can't afford to lose the money. Hopefully it just turns out that I'm fretting for nothing

Unfortunately that is where she's got you as she knows you can't find someone else without losing your deposit; just tell her straight that you will be doing your own foundation and tell her you need a time asap!
