    Hey everyone

I am currently looking at quotes for someone to do my hair and make up on my big day, preferably 1 person doing both.
Anyway I have a few quotes and one sounding great is saying £200 for both on the day and £100 for a trail. Is it me or is this real expensive? I'm contemplating doing make up myself and getting really good photogenic stuff from debenhams or something and get getting my hair done.
Is this loads or me being a skin flint! I'm in Wiltshire if anyone knows anyone really good?

Thank you in advance chickies xxx

That's why it's so expensive, Wiltshire!

Thought it was just me, go and have a make up trial done in debs or somewhere and use what they use if you like it, several will do it for free! Words of advice, never mention it's for your wedding, say you're in a make-up rut or if the department store does make-up, tell them you are a guest and go down on the morning of your wedding! lol xx

I am only paying for my make up as OH's cousin is working for YSL and get 60% off anything, but he's a bloke so doesn't use all I need, but it don't matter that I buy make up cause I'll use it again. and hair is done by my sister who's a hair stylist and brilliant at wedding up do, or anything about stylish hair do.

My bridesmaid is my hairdresser so luckily not paying for my hair and can have as many trails as i like as she lives next door haha !! However normally she charges £35 for a trail and £50 for hair on the actual day but that is in her salon... if she has to travel then charges more for mileage.

I do think it is important to spend the money on your hair and make-up as want the pictures to be perfect and you too feel amazing on the day. Also your make-up needs to last all day hence its expensive to have a make-up artist as they wont use high street cheap make up but proper stuff that will last xxx

Hello Johns Girl .... I think that sounds quite expensive :/ If you're good at makeup then why not treat yourself to some fab new stuff to use? I spent £90 on a makeup counter then I had all my new make up for my honeymoon and after .....
I looked on Google for a 'wedding' hairdresser in my area they are more qualified and have mountains of experience in doing just wedding hair! They specialise in up do's and usually have a good portfolio of past clients so you get ideas. I paid £190 in all and that included ....
hair trial for me my MOH and BM at the shop
the hairdresser travelled to the hotel and did all 3 hair styles on the morning of the wedding
It's worth shopping around as most places will charge more for travelling too, some up to £5 per mile!!!!

I hope I can get a bargain for hair and make up! Me, my mum and my sister (moh) really want ours done professionally, but I'm on a tight budget. I've had a quick look and they're expensive but I'll have a proper search soon! X
