as the title says, we have had to cancel the wedding, totally got my head around it last week but broke down yesterday when we went to the venue to cancel. suddenly seemed real :(
we had planned on saving to pay for it in a lump sum in a couple of years but that messed up today. My partners ex wife took him to CSA after and arguement and we need to pay her £116 a week now. they had an agreement where he bought clothes/shoes etc so thats now out the window. :(
will be sticking around to keep up with othe peoples stories as still love a good wedding x x x
Cant wait to become Mrs Ellerington!!!!!

WOW £116 a week? I get less then that a month for 2 kids!
Can you perhaps downsize and have a small intimate affair instead? Or pt aside what ever you can and still have it in a few years just slightly smaller then you first thought?
Chin up hunni IT WILL HAPPEN!

oh bless you! 116 a week sounds very steep. do it abroad, get urself a cheap n cheerful holiday with nearest and dearest only. my family were quite happy to use all inclusive for the reception (when we were planning for an abroad wedding). Big hugs to you both xxx

we had planned on making it smaller, just still unsure on that. Lee had a small do when he married his ex, but wanted something a bit better this time. but right now i just want to marry him so like you say Kel, shes not winning.
Lee gets a decent wage and they take 25% no matter what we pay out, its going to leave us literally on the brink of skint. x x
I'm surprised she gets that much considering u have kids, cos they normally take them into account too.... Get itself to Gretna!!then have a bash when u get bk... Elopings all the rage ya know :-)

They took Elise into account £80 wasnt taken from the final 25%
I would do Gretna, but my dad is in August and dont want the same as him haha. We're looking at going abroad to do it. she laughed in his face today saying hahah say goodbye to your hols. so imagine the sickener if we went abroad and got married! x

Maybe you could do a small wedding and have a huge first anniversary party.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I didnt know we could appeal it, we definitely will. Lee's wage fluctuates from £350 a week to anywhere up to £600 depending where hes working and the hours, it goes on his last 5 wage slips which means he was earning £520 a week.
in the grand scheme of things £116 doesnt seem a lot compared to that wage, but we focus our life around that. we save to cover 2-3 month that lee is usually out of work over the winter, it just seems so unfair!
but if they take £116 off his bad weeks when earning £350 we wont be able to pay our bills. how do CSA make these decisions x

CommentAuthorbrilly
Yeah hun my ex appealed because he said it was too much and he couldnt afford it and said he paid all the house bills such as rent electric council tax etc (he doesnt his partner does lol), I would tell Lee when he appeals against the decision to explain about his wage and lack of work during the winter months and also state if he has a low wage then they will be taking 1 3rd which means your bills will fall behind, My h2b's work is the same as hes a ground worker so I understand about it being different one week to the next xx

£116 is ridiculous.. It does not cost £464 to feed and clothe children for a month.. We don't spend that much a month on bills food or clothes ! Nicky pays £30 a week to each of his kids, his eldests mum pays her flaming sky bill with it and his youngests mum supposedly saves it up.. How true that is I don't know seeing as she's always scrounging for extra and then going to get off her trolley every weekend that we have him and has 3 holidays a year ! Xxx
I can't wait to become his Wife :-)

I'm sorry you're going through this :(

Hugs Hun! Im so sorry this is going on. I would appeal as well, £116 a week is far to steep. As Georgi says, it doesnt take £116 to feed and clothe a kid or even 2 for that matter! I get £130 a month, which with a teeagers lasts about 5 mins! rofl but both me and her father think its fair, pays for her bass guitar lessons as well! APPEAL!
CommentAuthorHelenW
Wow thats crazy money! My other half pays 130 a month and my sons dad only pays me 150! Definitely go back to them - they may tive you an income form to show how much your paying on each bill to see what money you actually have left.. I earn close to his wage and theres no way we could afford to pay out that much! Xx

Appeal it and take a years worth of wage slips to them to prove the lack of work in the winter months and hopefully they will see. if you can take a bank statement as well that shows your outgoings
8th September 2012 I married my best friend

I would also defintely appeal it, that is really steep. Especially when you look at other people paying less. I would also still keep your hopes up on getting married. Like previous advise you could have a smaller wedding. You don't have to spend lots of money to have a fab wedding. Don't let anyone spoil your plans and dreams.
xx

Tbh I don't wanna cause a debate but how many kids is that for? Because I have 3 and my ex pays £70 a week voluntarily but if I went Csa route he would have to pay about £100 a week for my 3 that's taking into account that his GF has one and they're currently pregnant with another one... I don't want to go Csa route, he earns about £460 a week so I think £116-£120 is pretty average x

Also it's nt just to cover food and clothes, it's to help cover the costs of keeping the children warm, so contributes towards gas and electricity and water bills, also any school dinner money that has to be paid which in my house is £30 a week, 3 children at £10 a week, soon adds up x

yeah he has 3. we have come to the conclusion we will just have to pay it, we just wish we had a bit more notice and it wasnt done out of spite like it has. It annoys us more that we know the money wont go on the kids too, we know exactly what shes like. x

unfortunately it does sounda bout right for 3 kids, but there's no harm in trying to appeal you have nothing to lose from it x x
