I have had such a bad day. I got a call this morning to say that my cousin's daughter (aged 12) had gone into hospital to have her tonsils out and couldn't wake from the anaestetic. Apparently she's missing an enzyme that allows her to wake up afterwards ... I'll find out more tomorrow because I'm travelling to my home town to see my cousin & family. Little girl was woken up by 6pm but I'm not sure how unwell she is. She has two little brothers who now have to be tested for the enzyme deficiency.
I bought my wedding dress the other day online & checked my emails to see when the dress was despatched & I could expect delivery. I have an email saying my dress was delivered & signed for yesterday at 3.24pm. Yesterday I was at a hospital appointment from 2-3pm, went grocery shopping afterwards & arrived home just after 5pm. :( No delivery note behind my door. I've basically been home ever since & no-one ie neighbour has knocked to give me my parcel. I rang the online supplier & the delivery note signature is illegible & there will be an investigation with the courier.
I feel if & when the dress arrives I don't want it now. Mainly because today has been so awful with the upset, stress & crying & because the dress is missing & this has upset me even more. It feels like the dress is under a black cloud. I was so so happy when I found the dress. Now I'm the complete opposite of happy. :(

Oh does sound like a bad day I hope she is ok and not too traumatised by the whole ordeal! Delivery companies are rubbish - I once had them try and deliver someone elses package and when i tried to find out where mine was they told me I had refused the package so it had been sent back grrrr Hopefully things will be better tomorrow x
There are so many people out there who will tell you
what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

Let everything settle down. It'll all seem much better once you know you're family are ok. As for the dress, make sure you keep up with it - don't let them drag their heels. If it doesn't turn up you can at least get compensation in time to pay for your new dress.
You may find that if it turns up, it's perfect for you still.
Have you asked neighbours etc if anyone saw the delivery van in your street and if any of them signed for it? Could be that one of them has it and was busy last night - or assumed you'd have a calling card and would pop in for it xx

Hi,
still no dress. I haven't asked my neighbours as they know I've been home since Wednesday afternoon. I've had quite a few parcels left with a couple of my neighbours before & they've always brought them straight over as soon as they see I've arrived home in my car. I live on a cul de sac so everyone can see when I've arrived or left!!! My immediate neighbours are out during the day. The reason I don't want to go knocking is probably silly but .... I'm not sure if something 'wedding' related is on my parcel. My wedding date/plans haven't been announced to family so I'm definately not announcing anything to my neighbours. I just feel like the parcel being left with someone other than me has made things rather awkward for me.
I actually know the courier who delivered from the courier company. His daughter goes to school with mine. He lives a couple of streets away from me though I'm not sure exactly where but he's local. That's what annoys me the most, he must have realised what the package was & he could have re-delivered it when I was home!!
Rant over... for now. :(

Bless hun. it is true though that delivery companies are useless - I ordered a new flat screen TFT monitor a couple of years back at some cost and it was delivered to my neighbour as we weren't in - no note through the door or anything to say it had been delivered, so I was very lucky that we have honest neighbours!
Glad to hear the little girl is back home, I'm sure that means that she must be much better now.
Don't be hasty about your dress though hun, I'm sure that once you have it and have tried it on again that these feelings will all pass x
Now, finally, Mrs Riley
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I have the greatest husband!

Hi, Cousin's daughter has been quite poorly but now on the road to recovery. My wedding dress didn't turn up, the courier company didn't reply to the investigation request from the store I bought it from. I did however receive a full refund for the missing dress & was able to re-order the dress (thankfully my size was still in stock) & at 10am this morning I collected it from store!!! So happy. The dress is still in the box & this afternoon I'm going over to see my son & try my dress on whilst visiting him. :) The only think I'm annoyed about is that I ordered pearl jewelry with my dress & I couldn't re-order as they'd sold out.
