Had a FANTASTIC time too! Family turned up (some with children, despite being told not to) and friends, work colleagues. We had a BBQ and all in all it lasted about 9 hours. Everyone was drinking and enjoying themselves and it really could not have been any better! I'd been looking forward to it all week...
And then MIL arrived. I tell you now, I never knew that someone could sit for 5 solid hours with a face like a sour lemon, but by GOD did she manage it! She does not like me, and because I don't react to her, she thinks I'm stupid. Her husband enjoyed himself, so did her daughter but she just couldn't seem to get over herself. She wouldn't even have the cake I made because she said it shouldn't be that colour. (It was red velvet cake)
But in the end I hit the Jack Daniels with my grandad and forgot she was even there! Lol. Loved it.

cool - glad you had a good time and didn't let her spoil it - i bet she looked like a right stroppy cow.
No idea what red velvet cake is but it sounds delicious so can only laugh that she missed out on that too!
