Me and Iain had a go tonight at making our own wedding cake- it was the first time we have done this and tbh im quite pleased. Its not perfect, but with a few more practices and once decoarated with ribbon, flowers etc i think it will look fab!!. We just made the bottom tier (we are having 3 tiers, and then cup cakes around the bottom)- all to be made ourslves- we just cant afford the prices ppl charge!!. Ive added photos if anyone wants to take a look! - opinions welcome- good or bad!!

Wow that looks fab hun just a little tip though use the top of the cake as the bottom, as the bottom is more even to decorate xxx

That's not a bad first attempt!

Practise makes perfect (but don't eat all the cake while your at it)

I'm sure it will look fab on the day :)
