I've seen the same BM dresses, really great value and gorgeous on 2 different websites. My BMs love them and are happy for me to order them. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to online ordering so wondered if anyone had ordered dresses through e*t*s*y or s3xy her. The first is shipping from Canada and adds shipping on to the total but I've heard that sometimes customs charges are added.
If anyone has any experience I'd be grateful to hear from you!
    Xx

I've used E*T*S*Y from the US and had no problems. VAT charges will be due on the items and shipping is expensive. However, it is generally the same price or cheaper than purchasing in the UK. I regularly purchase clothing from the US and have only had to pay VAT on my purchases.

    From HMRC
    Customs Charges applicable

£0.01 to £15 ***** No customs duty. No Import VAT

£15.01 to £135 ***** No customs duty. Import VAT due

£135.01 and greater ***** Customs duty due, but waived if the amount calculated due is less than £9. Import VAT due

Does the extra charge come after you've paid on the website? The total comes to £300 including shipping- any ideas what the VAt will be and when I'll get the bill? Thanks Hun for your reply x

What is the price of the items before shipping? The actual value of the goods is what VAT & Duty charges will be based on.

The customs value includes postage and insurance, unless the item is marked as a gift, so will be the £300. Customs charge from Canada is 12 percent so this will be £36.

Vat is on the amount plus the customs charge but excluding the postage, and is 20 percent so will be£67.20, giving a total extra to pay of £103.20...
If the package is marked as a gift it's only 2.5 percent, however most suppliers wont do this as they are effectively defrauding hmrc.

I've ran this through an online calculator and it comes back to this....if you google import duty calculator a few come up.

You usually get your bill when the item lands in the uk....your courier will contact you and you will need to pay the charges before they let you have the product - be warned, some couriers have an admin fee for doing this which can be up to £25.

Hope this helpsI I was quite shocked when I was looking at buying bm dresses from overseas xx

    Wow!
That sounds crazy expensive! I thought it was too good to be true. Might try the other website then (s3xyher) as it is has no hidden costs. Has anybody used them?

I know....I think it should be made clearer on these sites that you could be paying an extra third of the cost on delivery!

I've not used the other site personally, but it does seem to have good reviews online xx
