Hi all, after a bit of advice. I am making the invites myself and they are all set to print but now MIL is insisting H2Bs middle name is included. When making I looked at invitations we have received and a few online and my first and middle name is on there and then his is as Mr first name last name. Should his middle name be included?

Well I dont have a middle name and chris does - we had the invites from parents but they did say "Mr and Mrs P Hayhurst request the pleasure of the company of ..... at the marriage of their daughter Natalie Hayhurst to Christopher Andrew Cross" so I would say yes. x

I have a middle name the only time I use it is for legal things like passport drivers licence etc, no chance in hell it's going on the invite but it will be full name during the ceremony as it's legal. If that makes sense.

However after I am married I may start using my middle name as I will have the same name as mil but don't want to.

What does h2b think if he uses the middle name then out it on invites.

We both used our full names but we are both proud of them. You do whatever you and h2b decide, the mil will get over it

Thanks for all your opinions, much appreciated!

When I was making them he told me he didn't want to include it as he hates it. When we first met he told me his middle name was Something else for about 3 months! His full name will be used in the ceremony. I will probably try to include it if it's not too late just to hush her up for now!

We are both having our full names (my fiance hates his middle name too), but I wouldn't allow 3rd parties to "insist" on things being a certain way, when it's YOUR wedding

Can you not just tell your MIL that your OH doesn't WANT his middle name in it? At least that way she will have to rant at him and not you. He might have more luck getting through to her x

Why should you put his middle name in it when H2B doesn't like it. Id ask him what HE wants and tell MIL to beat it. Your wedding

My oh's first and middle names are quite long so it'll just be our first names. I agree that you should ask your oh to see what he wants x

We put both of our middle names, as that is traditional, but at the end of the day it's your decision, not anyone else's. If you and H2B don't want it then leave it out

I've never thought about using middle names.. I don't think we would bother. But it might be nice to make it sound a lot more formal.. ? xx
