We're having a city break just before Easter to go and stay with a friend in Hamburg. We agreed that we couldn't really justify a proper holiday abroad this year (before the honeymoon, that is!) so this was a great compromise and will only cost just over a hundred quid for the both of us cos we're able to stay with our friend. x

I guess it's a bit more difficult for you guys though as you still have 18 months to go - we only have 7. It's really important that you both have some quality time together, away from the organising and stress, but I don't think you would need to have a fourtnight in the Seychelles to do that, lol! Maybe a couple of long weekends away would be a good comprimise for him? x

Awwww, you're so lucky!!! I oved from a job where I had 6 weeks a year to just the statutory 4, in September. Trying to manage that when you know you need 2 weeks off to get married abroad makes for a difficult time over the next year!

We have never gone away i havent been on hol since i was 16 oh is the same we are now 23 and 35 its just something we dont think about but it would be nice so i would go for it but keep costs down abit

You don't have to spend loads to go away. In march/april/may time they do loads of last minute holidays to Greece for £99 etc. I've done a few of them and its cheaper than going away here.

We are getting married in just over 4 months and I would love to have a cheap holiday in April but I don't think we can justify it as we need all our spare money for the wedding :-( It doesn't stop me from looking for cheap bargains though (in the uk, abroad is definitely out!). Now all I need to do is talk my h2b round to my way of thinking lol.

no we are not loaded .....we are going on a cheapy hol in april and the staying in one of our appts in vegas later in the year ...so we only pay for flights
We're going to Turkey for 10 days in june... still got loads of time left till wedding. Wedding shouldnt be too expensive anyway. I hope. :)

We have booked a family trip to scotland in august and a 4 night break to malta just me and h2b in april. We figured some quality time out away from wedding plans is always gonna be a good thing to remind us why we doing it in the first place. Well, thats how i justified it lol

We weren't planning on but MIL2B has said we're all going to Spain with them for her 50th birthday. We said we couldn't afford it so she's paid for the flights and the hotel and the insurance. All lovely and really nice but we still need to find the spending money and still at least £800 short on the wedding and we barely have any spare cash at the end of the month unless we're lucky. So we're scraping every last bit of cash together to pay for them. Joy! Should be worth it though.
The days are flying by, can't wait :)

We're spending the entire summer in Spain again with h2b's parents! We actually make money from it though as we pay for our flights out one way, we're working all summer (h2b already has a job to go back to, and I have a couple of maybes) then we book one way flights back home, we're quite lucky that my uni term dates allow us to fly out at a time when flights are cheap, and to fly back when the summer season has ended and we can get cheap flights again :)
Best of both worlds really, we get to relax in sunny Spain and also make money towards the wedding! And this year my MOH is coming to Spain with her fiance to stay in her dad's villa only an hour away from where we are, and they are being joined by another couple we know and like so it's looking like we'll be spending a few days going on triple dates with our couple friends which should be fun as we don't often get the chance to socialise with other couples!

i would have loved to be able to afford 2 holidays a year .we only wnet to edinburgh for the weekend for our honeymoon and tas only cause we got 2 nights hotel stay as a wedding present!! but i wasnt bothered as long as i got my day
