so I am making all these plans to make or get cheap low budget decorations for our village hall to change it from village hall into wedding venue. h2b keeps cutting the very small budget for this part of our day. I know its not the most important part but one of the things we will have are the photos and I want to look back at them and think that the room looks nice I did a good job. frustrated

Tell him that it needs to look like a wedding, not somewhere you'd have a church Bring & Buy Sale! All you really need are some plain coloured tableclothes, and some small table decorations. I saw a really nice idea where old food cans were washed out and had the labels removed, then have garden string tied into a bow round them. You can then put wild flowers/herbs/single stems in. It looked really effective and only cost about a pound a tin! I also saw those paper spherical lightshades that cost about £3 hanging from a ceiling i one venue I went to look at. Pick ones that complement your colour theme and then hang them at different lengths along the hall. Just a few ideas to show him that decorating doesn't need to be expensive but it does need to be done!

oh i like that idea Nini. I am making oganza and cotton bows with streamers for the walls and bunting to go round the walls as well. we I am paying for chair covers on the sly out of my own money we are making our own table clothes and napkins I have sorted table centers. but if he cuts any more from the budget i am not going to be able to afford the fabric. I think he is forgetting that when i sell what I make on ebay after may we will make back the costs.

Just do it hun i hate it how they dont really want to help with things but when u decide on someting and u can do it ur self with not much cost they start. xxx

Sit him down and tell him you ideas with the cost next to it. Show him what you are spending on it. Then show him what it would cost to buy all the stuff you are making with the cost next to that so he can see how much you are saving in the long run
