Thanks for all your posts, after much investigation I have established which bailiffs have my wedding dress. I have been in contact with them and sent them a description. HOWEVER, I have lost the receipt in a house move (stupid I know). Never the less I have sent them a bank statement showing full payment for the dress but they now say that this is only proof that I bough something, not what exactly I bought. They are going back to their client to decide whether or not I can have it back. The most frustrating thing is that they have confirmed that they have a bag with my name on it, containing my dress, tiara and veil!!!! I feel like I am going crazy. I have told them that I am prepared to issue court proceedings to get the dress etc back, but they seem to ignore me. However have done some research and I can get an injunction to force them to give me the dress back if I can prove that it is more likly than not to be my dress ... given that I gave them size, style etc, a bank statement and it has my name on, Im pretty sure I can do this... Ill keep you all posted, and thanks again.

how stupid that they wont give you your dress back, when there CLEARLY is a bag with your name on and you can show you paid for a dress, just one point to add, is there a price tag on the dress they have in the bag? Wouldnt that help provide some MORE prrof you paid for THAT bag of items?
So awfull, i really hope they see sense and sort this out. I would agree with others about going to the papers, no company ever likes bad press, and sometimes merely the threat of going to the press can make them change thier minds, maybe also local news, i am sure as there will be more brides affected they would take up this story,.

Been keeping an eye on this thread...weldone you for tracking the bailiffs down! Keep at em they will give it you back eventually! A bank statement and a detailed description should be more than sufficent for them to release the goods with YOUR name on.
Try and find out where you stand legally (ie. Act dates and paragraph numbers etc)....if you quote legal jargon at them, then you will find they will soon change their tune. Play them at their own game so to speak. Good luck chick, not that you should need it!!

Hi, firstly thanks for all your kind comments and support. I can now update you all that I can pick up my dress (from Wales!!) on Monday morning!!!. I spoke to my friend who is a solicitor, she helped me prepare court papers for an injunction forcing them to release the dress to me. I went to court (waited around all day) and the judge ordered that they had plenty of evidence that it was mine, and they shoul never have taken it in the 1st place as it had my name on it, and clearly state 'PAID'. They have given me to address to pick the dress up at 10:30am on Monday. They wont deliver it, but I am tired of arguing and just want it back. Thanks again to everyone, all of your comments have kept me going, when I was very distressed, and a HUGE thanks to my friend, you know who you are xxx

This is fantastic news. What they did however, was tantamount to theft. If your dress was inded marked as paid, it was yours, end of story.
