So we are going away to get married. There's a couple of reasons, but really mainly to do with money as we don't want a massive wedding and Vegas was where we got engaged so it just feels right.

Now, I was expecting that no one would come as its not a cheap holiday, and knew only a few might be able to afford it. ( hence another reason at least if no one comes then there's no one moaning that they missed it and others went if you get what I mean ). My dad has said he's not coming as he has his own wedding to pay for in November (fair enough). My mum can't come as the timing is not quite right for school, also cost and getting dog sitter. Now if I was forced to choose it would be my mum and dad I'd want there but as it is they can't come and that's OK.

Now we've told OH dad, he's not coming. So that leaves just us two for 2 weeks and that is perfect sounds great. But when we saw his aunt over Xmas he said she could come if she wants, in fact anyone can come as long as they are aware they are paying for themselves!

Now I like his aunt and uncle, we do stay with them often enough when we are in Wales however I've got used to the idea of it being the 2 of us and just out of the blue he says that! Am I being childish to be a bit annoyed hes inviting her and others now, especially as it would be all his side and no one from my side that would be coming ?

Also we have booked a Grand Canyon package which men's we have the ceremony and then go off after in a helicopter. Logistically and financially we can't pay for this for any one else so it seems weird we invite them to the wedding then day 'see ya' for a few hours before we get back and then we'd obviously have to go out to celebrate.

Sorry for long post, just needed to get this off my chest.

Can you just say that you don't want guests and want it to just be the two of you? Be honest. Could you compromise and say you can have a family meal when you get back to celebrate?

Yeah I think you just need to be honest and say that you are just having the both of you, maybe suggest that if People Would like, you can all go for a family meal when you are back and everyone pays for their own meal?

We will be having a party when we get back. I just don't see why OH has suddenly decided to say that everyone can come now it's all pretty much sorted for the 2of us.
