    Hi all,

So after my wedding there's H2B cousins wedding in October and his sisters wedding next year in July I think.

My question is- is it acceptable for me a wear a dress that's in my wedding colours (sky blue) to someone elses wedding? Also, could I wear my wedding shoes/bolero or will that raise a few eyebrows/upset the bride?

I'm just paranoid cause I know some brides get upset with what guests wear at their weddings. I worry it'll look like I'm trying to bring my wedding back into someone elses or something, am I being ridiculous?

Also, would it be weird to wear the same dress to both weddings?

I know it's probably down to opinion at the end of the day but I just wanted to check it wasn't a definite no-no lol.

    Thanks!

I think it's absolutly fine to wear your wedding colors and accessories to another wedding. And also the same dress.

There were a few people wearing their wedding shoes at our wedding (they were pleased to be able to wear them again!) and I have one dress that I've worn to five weddings ... somehow been to that many where there were no overlapping people!

    Ask the bride/s!

I think it would be fine but if your not sure what they would like ask them!
I think they would only have a problem if your dress was her colours and looked like a bridesmaids?
As for wearing the same dress to both I think it would be ok as they are so far apart, would the guests be the same at both?

I'd say as long as its not your wedding dress, then wear what you like! lol!
Although, as you know them, they may appreciate you asking what their colour scheme is just incase its the same & you end up looking like a mis-matched BM? x

Half the guests will be the same at both weddings. Maybe I'll ask around and see what other people are doing in regards to wearing the same outfit to different weddings. If I'm not the only one wearing the same dress be reet lol.

Glad to hear that wedding outfit recycling is perfectly acceptable too :)

As long as your not wearing your wedding dress or white then dont see the issue. People wont remember what your wedding shoes looked like i doubt and the bride certainly wont as enjoying her day.

Even if your dress was the wedding colours then i dont see the issue?! As long as you are not wearing the bridesmaid dress then whats the problem, people know your not a bridesmaid xxx

Eh?! I've had one dress I've worn to every wedding I've been to for the last 8 years, same people for many of them, is it actually a thing you have to get a new one... for every wedding!? Definitely can't see why anyone would be bothered about you wearing a dress in your wedding colours, or your wedding shoes, to be honest I doubt people would even realise. The only thing I'd be slightly hesitant about would be the bolero, but that may just be because the only time I'd ever wear a bolero is at my wedding, and a lot of them are very "bridey". But you know them, if you think they're the type of people to care, then plan something else.

Yeah I agree with the other ladies, as long as you don't turn up in a big white wedding dress and try to up stage the bride I can't see why they would bat an eye lid at whatever you choose to wear!

I think it's fine un, it's not like you're going to turn up in your wedding dress, ornother white dress. I wouldn't worry, just wear whatnyou like, at least you'll get some more wear out of your shoes etc just think the cost per wear will go down which can only be a good thing xxx

For you to have posted this shows you are thinking of others and know how brides might feel.
Personally I'd stay away from anything related to your wedding, keep it special for your day.
And of course wear two different dresses, who needs more of an excuse than that to go shopping!!

    Have fun x

funnily enough we're going to a wedding this summer and Dan asked me if I was going to wear my wedding dress (it's been dyed) ... of course I'm not going to! Despite the fact that it is now purple, it's still way too dressy to be wearing as a guest

I agree with everyone else, wear what you like. But if you really are concerned then speak to the people who are getting married and ask their opinion. Then at least you will know and you will feel more comfortable.
Last year we had two family weddings, one on my mums side and the other on my dad's side of the family's. The dress i choose and the one my sister in law choose we wore to both weddings and it wasn't a problem to us or anyone else.
People will not remember what you wear all the focus will be on the bride and groom.

    xx
