My first rant about my wedding - and it was all going swimmingly well lol

First one - invites went out last week - i put loads of info on a separate sheet for guests, hotel locations etc etc, and the fact that they could RSVP online at our wedding site if they wanted to thinking it would be easier than them going out to buy a card and having to post it .... so WHY THE FOOK do people think its ok to effin text/call me to tell me they are coming??

Its not ok - in fact its positvely rude. I have had to gently remind folk via faceache that they need to RSVP through our site or send us a card... NOT text/call or mesasge me via effin faceache! We need a record of whos replied and whos comin for the venue and catering numbers... and if they dont reply and just turn up they aint getting in... period. FFS people show some damned respect!!!

Second one - i dont want ANY small kids at the wedding - dont get me wrong, i love kids, but i just dont want them at the ceremony, the only ones coing are over 10 and are ours and a close friend. HOWEVER, my cousin has an 8 month old baby she will be bringing - but shes pretty good and has been told that if she starts crying or whinging during the ceremony she needs to be taken out. Now Marks cousin is due to have her baby in a couple of weeks and wants to bring it...... NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Its a biker wedding, with lots of noise, rowdy bikers and lots of alcohol - NOT the place for little babies!
Am i being unreasonable?? I REALLY dont want babies interrupting my ceremony - it happened the first time round and all you could hear on my video was a bloody whingy baby! GRRRRRRR!!!

Third one - Marks sister has told us she is wearing purple and black... ooooookkkaaaaaaayyy...... but the colours for the wedding party are purple and black.... would you wear a white dress to a white wedding??? ARRGHHHHHHH!!!

Maybe im getting peed off about stuff cos its drawing ever closer and im more on edge/nervous about it than i think.... i dunno

But why the feck dont people show some damned respect when getting an invite!!

I know Goff some people are just frigging thick, you can say it once or a hundred times but there will always be people that just dont listen. We had similar problems and you have to be quite firm and tell them bluntly what is what ( I cant see this being a problem for you) ansd I mean that in the nicest way possible. Its your wedding at the end of the day and they should respect that x

That is rude & I would be annoyed. Why would someone think it's ok to send a text? I completely understand why people don't invite kids & would never ask if I could bring mine if not invited, in fact the last 2 weddings out kids were invited but we chose not to bring them so we could enjoy ourselves properly, our youngest was 3 weeks old & some people couldn't believe I went to tge wedding without her but I was worried she would cry & I would miss the ceremony for being outside. People need to realise it is your weddibg & should respect your decisions x

I wouldn't dream of RSVPing a wedding invite in the form of a text! Unless that's what it said to do on the invite! You've went to the effort to post out invitations and they should reply as you ask them to not just do their own thing! As for the babies - I think you are being totally reasonable, I would not want babies crying through the ceremony either!! You'd think people would want to come to a wedding and enjoy it without having a 2 week old baby with them to look after anyway!x

Ugh I feel your pain miss, I keep getting RSVPs on facebook and have been pretty rude to those people in response. You either respond the way I told you to, or don't come at all. You just have to be harsh about it, you'll probably have to chase up a few people closer to the date who haven't answered yet so just consider their texts and whatnot as non-responses and give them an official call at some stage demanding a real response. You need to know, like you said, a lot of things depend on it.

As for babies, I have a feeling this is a touchy subject but again it is your wedding and you have to make it clear to people your reasons for not wanting small children there. They will just have to deal; it's why babysitters were invented. If they kick up a fuss (my H2B's dad did - he is remarried and has two little ones) just offer to hire a team of babysitters to sit in a hotel room with them all. This is what we are doing. It's costing us very little and diffused a potentially massive argument.

The dress issue I find outrageous. Purple seems to be a very popular colour right now but I'd put my foot down. No one but the bridal party should be wearing these colours...tell her to wear white instead. End of.

Good luck, and keep a stiff upper lip ;)

Don't Goff some people just very disrespectful when it comes to weddings they no longer feel honoured to be invited but more feel like if you want them there you have to make allowances. What some don't realise is there's a no mess attitude that's got to happen they don't stick to the rules they don't come simples xxx

Im annoyed.... moreso about his sister - but we are off to reading next weekend to see her - and ill be telling her to her face in no uncertain terms that she is NOT to wear purple and black. Fair enough if it was a fancy dress costume, but it isnt..... and that message sounds effin sarky with the "i wanna be individual" bit..... WTF??

you have every right to be pissed off hun,i remember when our invites went out,i gave 3 options to rsvp, email, phone or card,,,some people did but others just couldnt be bothered, then about 2 weeks before the wedding they were asking me what time should they come over, and i told them, you didnt rsvp you havent been counted in for the catering numbers, they said it unkind of me to which i replied,no i havent if youd read the invite it specifically said you had to rsvp, you didnt so its your loose .
i think you do need to speak to marks sister about her outfit, the emphasis of the day is meant to be on you,and her turning up in the same colour is not on.as for the tiny baby i think you need to tell them now that is not appropriate to bring him/her

on the bright side at least people are responding in a timely manor even if it is not the way you want.

as to the babies well it is your day but it is hard for people to leave very small kids with babysitters for as long as it takes for someone to get married. but i can understand why you don't want them there at all.
