I've just remembered this and it's really annoyed me! I went into a bridal shop to look at wedding dresses (like you do), and the women was so rude to me and my friend, she told us she wasn't going to sell us anything because she thought we were planning our weddings all wrong, and then she said, come back in 6 months, I thought I'm never coming back in here again! Sorry, just really wound me up!

WTF. It's non of her business......"SHUT YOUR MOUTH LOVE AND DO YOUR JOB!!!!!" I would have been soooooo p*ssed off at her and would have told her where she could shove the entire collection of dresses. Hopefully you can find somewhere with nicer sales assistants to buy your dress from. xx

I know and we'd got a few more shops to look at, it was the first shop we'd gone into and it really upset me, so I was sh**ing myself all the way to the next shop, scared I was goin 2 be snapped at again! But we've found a shop thats really nice and they've made us a 2 hour appointment because I didn't want to go on my own and do it seperatly (my best mates getting married around the same time as me), and the women in that shop said there's no way she should have talked to us how she did, so at least they're nice where we're going :) xxxx

How dare she tell you your planning your wedding WRONG! What is wrong these days, everyone has different ideas, styles etc so of course everyone is going to be planning differently and NO ONE can say your planning it wrong, what a blood y cheek.
As for coming back in 6 months because youve got 18 months left, dont you dare, go elsewhere lol. Ive found if you tell a little white lie about your wedding date ppl are alot more interested then they would be if you told them your not getting married for a couple of years yet. Then if you find THE ONE just tell them youve had to postpone but you still want the dress so can you pay in installments lol. Worked for my friend and shes paying the dress off over nearly two years lol

Well we said to the nice lady that the style and colour of our dresses determine the theme of the wedding so we wanted to get the dresses sorted first and she completely understood, so we're going there! But that women in the first shop really p***ed me off, I didn't know whether to cry or swing for her! xx

I really dont get why some shops are so rude when you are looking at spending thousands of pounds. It felt like a theme from Pretty Woman when I went to one shop and they refered to one of my BM's as the scatty, plump one with the flower in her hair! I was so mad that we walked out and they lost £3000 worth of business! Luckily I found a really lovely shop which is family run and very down to earth. They have been amazing and told me they get alot of business from customers that went to the other shop first!

HOW RUUUUDE. i would have given that woman a piece of my mind. The cheek, you plan your wedding however you like, its a process that is personal and you are supposed to enjoy it. I had a funny incident in a bridal store rather than a rude one. Me and my friend went into this one store which was really great, except this one woman really manhandled us into these dresses! Haha i was so scared when it happened but as soon as we got out of the shop we just burst into laughter. It was so funny. Luckily after the first dress i had another woman come help me and my friend had the man-handler. muahahahaaaa

i wud go back ther, make her get evry dress out for me to try on then say anyway i dont like ur attitude so stuff ur dresses. we hav a shop like that wer i live and she is really snooty. me and my sister went in. we not as skinny as twiggy but we not huge neither. and she looked us both up and down like we wer rubish. then a girl walked past the shop while we wer in and waved at the woman and she told us she was one of her brides. she was a little on the plump side and she really was very pretty but the shop woman said "hhmph she has no idea on how to be a cinderella bride" and started laughing at her. i was disgusted and thought ther is no way i gona hav her talk about me like that to other brides so i walked out. i was looking for the girl and was gona tell her what the woman had said but i couldnt find her. poor girl. then a friend of mine went in to look but said she was still carryin a little bit of post pregnancy weight and the woman said "hhmph yes i can see that" i'm sorry but i would hav pundhed her ha ha xx

These people then wonder why they don't have many customers! I don't care how cheap the place is, if they're rude, there's not point in bothering! And as you said G.I they lose so much money being rude, I don't know why they do it!

the thing is tho the one near me is really expensive and i honestly dont know how she stays open. ther was another bridal shop more in the center of the town and she went bust last year leavin brides wif out dresses. i had even tried one on ther that i liked and it was similar to mine but luckily i didnt giv her a deposit x

It was so annoying though 'cos the first shop and the second shop we went into we're in a completely different town, and the first one was where the women was really rude, and the second one was unbelievably expensive, and the third one we went to is right down the road from both of us and it's perfect, so we had no need to waste the bus fare! xxxx

I honestly dont get some wedding dress shops, so snotty. In plain terms they are sales people and a business and all businesses try to gain sales in order to gain money, so it baffles me that they turn people away! stupid!

lol i like lisa's idea. its really silly that any other type of shop like a supermarket or highstreet clothes store they would never dream of acting like that in front of a customer, but its like another sort of world when you walk into a bridal store.

I would withdraw all the money for your dress when the time comes to be shopping, go back, show her all the money your willing to spend and pretend its just "deposit money", try on like 20 dresses all really really overpriced. Pick one that suits you. Say yeah I love this one "whos the designer?" take it off and then when she asks about putting money down for it say "Oh no, you told me I was planning my wedding all wrong and you wern't going to sell me anything last time I came in! I don't like you, or your shitty shop. I'm getting THAT dress SOMEWHERE else, and walk away.
