    Advice needed.

For our wedding, my husband to be is keen to invite members of his sports club just for the evening as an open invitation. There are too many to invite personally and obviously do not want to miss people out, so we are trying to work a way that we can tactfully have an open invitation to the club as a whole. Has anyone done this in the past or have any advice on what we should do?

    Thanks in advance.

Hmmmm, I'd be nervous about that, will you have space at your venue to accommodate everyone, especially if they all bring a partner?

I done a group invite to my work I put up the invitation on the notice board and asked everyone just to let me know by a certain date if they were going to make it.

OH sent an email to his work mates inviting them to the reception and to let him know by a certain a date.

We will have plenty of space to accommodate as we don't have a huge number of evening guests and mostly they are lads. Our wedding is about an hour away as well so naturally we expect that would put some people off!

We were thinking a sign up sheet in the club, but as you can imagine it just feels a little awkward!

My fiance did the same, he wrote on one of our normal evening invitations ''the science dept'' and put it on the notice board.

I think you're brave, I wouldn't do it but everyone is different.

If they're all on Fbook you could create a private event and invite them to it. Or maybe if there is a regular practice that they all go to he could announce it.

I've heard of people doing similar things to Elizabeths suggestion, putting a notice up and asking people to respond by a certain date but they decided there were a set number of places and it was a first come first serve basis just to ensure it didn't go mad. X

If your h2b has everyone's mobile number, could he set up a wh@t$@pp group conversation to invite everyone?
