This isn't something I've thought about until we went to see our wedding band and one of them had a big old bushy beard... it got me thinking, my fiancé usually had a bit of stubble, but shaves as it gets itchy ect.

I prefer him with a bit of facial hair and asked what he was planning on doing for the wedding and he said, I don't know-probably shave. But he agree's with me that he prefers some facial hair as thinks he looks too baby faced clean shaven.

His mum doesn't like him with stubble, but he ain't marrying his mum so as much as she'll moan on the day tough.


The plan at the moment is for him to practice growing a bit of a beard and styling it, he doesn't want a big old bushy one (although I think throughout winter he should try and grow one for the laugh but I don't think he will) he looked great with a styled beard last night at an engagement do we went to.


Anyway-long way of asking, what is your opinion on facial hair on a groom? Does it look scruffy?

When I met my groom he had facial hair and always has done, couldn't image him without a little bit of stubble. At the moment he has a beard going on and I like it but for a summer wedding it might look bit odd. His mum also doesn't like his facial hair but for the wedding we agree to him having a bit of stubble.
I think it depends on the man, if he grows some facial hair and it looks patchy that would look scruffy and it does need to be trimmed and neatened but I don't think facial hair looks scruffy.

I def prefer him with facial hair, always a bit gutted when he shaves it off because it gets too itchy and he always soon grows it back again, I'd prefer it if he just maintained some nice facial hair. He's trying to moisturise it now to see if it helps with the itching.... he also said it felt better after tidying it up last night.

He doesn't go patchy so I think he should make the most of it ;)

My h2b has a beard but when he shaves it he looks to baby faces but also he finds his bears annoying and it itches him he's growing it our at the moment hew a before but he shaves it as it was itchy I love him to have a beats like Johnny Depp in pirates of the Caribbean Johnny Depp my Celeb Hubby!! I love my h2bes beard I do sulk when he shaves it but he may grow it then go to the barber to get it styled and shaped for the wedding I don't think stubble or beArds n tashes make men look scruffy it's natural for them to have a beard Bd also makes them look sexier a but of manly hair x

OH honestly thought I had wrote the original post!

OH always has some sort of beard/goattee/stubble going on - at the protest of his mother! He doesn't know what he's doing yet but's our conversation really - what am I doing with my hair - what is he doing with his beard! :P

My OH recently shaved his beard off as he wanted to start afresh, he looks so weird, im used to his beard, he keeps it trimmed and neat just around the edge of his jaw and his tash. I used to hate it but now I prefer it, there is a professional cut throat shave barbers which im going to send my oh, and his bm to a couple weeks before then on the morning, so hes still having his beard but so the other bits are all nice and smooth.

My OH made the deal if he wears a suit he will be clean shaven if he wears a kilt he's keeping the beard ... He's keeping the beard and wearing a kilt. I hate the beard wouldn't be so bad if it was kept tidy but its bushy and hairs are all different lenghts
oh and brown hair but a ginger beard not the greatest look
Some guys really suit it but mines just looks scruffy

Nothing beats a clean shaven face.. Mine shaves his as he starts to look scruffy as soon as it grows back x
