H2b just phoned, he's picked the suits. :(
He's got himself a tail coat but other groomsmen will have normal jackets.
I told h2b to have same suits just different colour cravat. E.g groom have red others have ivory.
I think its Cus of bestman they were talking about it last night and its like I was talking to a brick wall.
I'm worried its Not going to look right :(

Hi Hun, Im in a similar position - h2b has his heart set on a power blue retro suit which wasn't going to go at all...

We've since kinda changed the color scheme and added aubergine instead of olive green so hopefully will look ok...he really wanted the suit though and it's his day too...our ushers are all in charcoal grey so hopefully won't look to odd.

In my opinion, I think it'll look fine and it means your groom will stand out from the groomsmen...but I can see why you're a bit peeved though xx

Just have a chat with him about it, can't you go with him so you can see yourself if it looks ok?

I'm going with H2B next week to discuss the style etc, I want to see as well how it will look and to make sure the right colours are picked, but we have sort of already agreed on suits.

It's quite common for the groom to have a different style so he stands out.
But it is him who will be wearing it so it is his decision what he has. I wouldn't try to change his mind as it is what he wants and you wouldn't want him to try to tell you to change your dress would you?

I know from experience he'll look fine. When we got married, my husband wore full tails with ivory waistcoat and royal blue cravat. The best man and my dad wore the same colour suit (black) but they wore normal two piece suits so no waistcoats, and they had royal blue ties instead. They all looked great and it meant that the groom stood out more, which was a good thing, given that it was him getting married lol.
