how do we sort out the seating. He has 5 members of his family, inc him and his two brothers will be at front as best men. We have 54 guests so thats 49 people that are MINE or joint friends through me. How do we organise this? Do we say to ppl sit where you want or do we have my family on my side and mutual friends on his? what would you do?

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo

ask people to fill out the seats from front to back, then you should have an even amount of people sitting on both sides

We are making everyone mix so when they sit down in the civil and church they spread out evenly. It doesn't matter who knows who etc. With everyone mixing up sides no one will know just how many are from which side. You can get the ushers to just point them left right etc as they walk in.

I have 5 members of my family coming aand about 15 of his, and then the few friends we want there. We're just going to mix them up. Also a good way of people getting to know each other.

We are just going to fill up from the front too! I don't have very many family yet H2B does and we have loadz of mutual friends! I think it would look silly if we had the traditional split on each side! xx

I have a similar prob hun....he has parents his brother and his gf and son and his sil and her son and about 4 friends the rest are all mine (60 guests) will be more at the reception but just family and close friends at the wedding/meal.
I say arrange them any way you want to him and his two brothers will be on the top table anyway (if your having one) as they are best men so just arrange the rest how you want, wheather thats via a seating plan or just sit anywhere is up to you.

We have about 80 people coming to our wedding - only about 7 people from my h2b's family and about a dozen of his friends. The rest are my family and friend's lol! I think we will just tell people to sit wherever they like!
Hope they all get on - my h2b's dad is a retired army major and the family are conservative where as my family are left wing socialists who are anti armed forces lol, should be fun!! Personally I don't care what peoples backgrounds or political views are, everyone is entitled to their opinions as long as they agree to disagree :-)

It's a very old and rarely observed tradition to split the ceremony into 'Bride's side' and 'Groom's side'
Personally I'd just leave the guests to sit wherever they want

    It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

we are similar, approx 15 of his family and 50+ of mine so we have said sit where they like but even sides out, i have added to our website that we are 1 big family not 2 separate familes and we would like everyone to mingle together, weather it works like that is another thing lol x

21st October 2011 will be the best day of my life!!!
