im interested to know anyone who,s getting married in Gretna or looking into it .
i live in Essex but getting married in Comlongon Castle 23 April and staying at whitcroft , iv been to see both venues , can't wait they are both stunning.

i made mine small couse i thought no one would come , but i was very supprised how many i had to turn down. If u think about it, it could be worse if you married abroad lol

We're getting married at Gretna on 6th August. We're getting married at Gretna Hall Linton Suite and having our reception at the Solway Lodge Hotel. We booked most of it through the Gretna Wedding Bureau and are going there with just close family (20 of us).

We've been up there to look around and are going back at the beginning of May to take our M10 forms - and the place in general is gorgeous. We're travelling up there from Leeds.

My friend got married there last year and loved every minute of it. I think she booked through the Gretna wedding Bureau too and said they did a great job of everything.

They seem really good Jo. We booked with them - and January last year we went up for my birthday. We called in to Gretna Hall and mentioned to the guy there that we were getting married August 2011. He checked the book and we were definitely in there so we got to look round as no weddings were on at the time - in fact he even went into detail of where we'll stand and the ceremony etc. It put us at ease because we knew the bureau had definitely been in touch with them and booked it all properly (you tend to worry when you're so many miles away).

And the photography company they use seem to have a good reputation and have been doing weddings for years. When we booked it (Jan 2010) it seemed ages away - now I can't believe it's less than 6 months lol.

tilley all u have to do to start is choose the type of wedding u want , and how big a reception you want , The site shows u them all and what recptions u can have to go with the wedding venue also howmany guest each venue holds then u choose if you want the full package or make up your own , the team are very helpful with any questions you have,All i needed to pay was £700 deposit to book .good luck

Im sure i will just found out one of my mums friends had her reception at the mill forge and she aid it was amazing also had a sneak at here wedding album its got me all excited lol xx
