yeah it does, we aren't sure about numbers yet and if people would come that far etc. so need to find somewhere for them, it does say that the gretna green people will help with accommodation abd reception if needed.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Hotels in that area hun! We were going to get married in one of the castle's, have you decided on which venue you want yet? x

no not at all! we like the castles, we are still thinking about when and where as all change for us, thats what we are wondering about reception as we would like to do it all in one but some we have seen are so expensive, and now we are paying for most of it ourselves now. hmm lots to think about! all over again haha

Aww im sure you will sort it hun! Best thing is to think about number of guests then go from there as some cater for as few as 2 upto 340. So if you know approx how many guests you are having that may help you decide which venue to go for! They do some brilliant packages!!!

We're getting married Gretna next year. If you look up the Gretna wedding bureau they can book it all for you. You can custom you package and make it as big or small as you want - we're only having 20 in our party. You can even cool photographers and transport as well. If you ask them they'll send you a full accommodation list as well, so you can cool a hotel and reception to suit you. We visited there as well to give us an idea and found a lovely hotel that's now doing our reception as well. We got to look round our venue for the ceremony as well so feel a lot happier now we can put a picture to our plans lol.

We're getting married at the Gretna Hall in the Linton Suite. That room holds 20 people, but they have other rooms as well that are different sizes. And we're having our reception at the Solway Lodge Hotel. Again they cater for small or large weddings, as you can use the restaurant or they have a function room - and we've been told if we want something informal for the evening they can put on music in the hotel bar and there's a late licence etc.

The reception breakfast there is really good value as well - £23 per person - and you are allowed to give your guests a choice of 5 dishes per course (3 courses) - and they don't have to choose a month in advance like a lot of places (can choose on the day). If you check the Solway out, IT Man is very helpful and will bend over backwards with everything to please.

Hope you find what you're looking for. IT Man (at the Solway) was even asking us if there was anything else that he could help with (recommending transport, wedding cake etc) as I think he's been there a while and knows a lot of local people.

so, here it goes. we are now thinking about gretna green instead of a registry office. i have looked on the website and they offer packages just for the bride and groom and provide the witnessess which i think is perfect for me.(i suffer bad from anxiety and i think having my family around me is too much, i much prefer a private ceromany just me and my oh). anyway has anyone done this before. how did u get on. the package i have found is the romance package at the mill forge which is £445 obviously price dependant to 2017 it includes ceromany venue, 2 nights in the bridal suite intimate 4 course meal for bride and groom, bucks fizz on arrival, sparkling wine to celebrate, witnesses if required (something we need) and a wedding planner assistance.. now how did this work for you guys like on the day of the wedding not letting the groom see the dress & obviously help getting into the dress. transport is it something thats needed tp get to the ceromany, is the 2 nights stay near?. and obviously we want photography how did you choose your photographer.. and most importantly what did you do after in terms of the meal and everything else ? arghh im pulling my hair out

Sorry for the long post im trying to find something thats perfect for us and gretna green sounds just that, but not making any decisions without hearing other peoples opinions and storys oof how theirs went. p.s i have never been to a wedding only seen it on the tv so i have no idea thankyou xxx
