Great, just had a phone call from my sister and am not happy :o( Mum got diagnosed with skin cancer in February and has had a couple ops etc. and her doctors told me and my sister to get our moles checked out. I went straight to the doctors and got mine checked, and I was told that it was absolutely fine and nothing at all to worry about. Anyway my sister went to the doctors and got hers checked and was referred to the hospital, just to be safe. She's just called me now to say that everything is fine but the consultant has told them to get me to go there and get mine checked out by her, even though my doctor told me that its all fine! I don't understand why I need to go! I'm frustrated because I'm stuck at home at the moment, I can't drive and how am I supposed to get to the doctors to get checked again?! I'm just going to be sitting worrying about this now and to be perfectly honest, I'm scared that everything won't be fine :o(

it is so easy for a doctor to say a mole is fine. i have one under my arm that is quite big and from time to time it bleeds. hasnt done it in a while but when i go to the doc he says it is fine. you tell me how doctors know just by looking? fair enough they can see if it looks normal but can see just by looking if it is cancerous.

i would go to the consultant just to be sure. better to be safe with these sort of things, than worrying about them and not getting them checked xx
