I had such a fantastic hen do- my family and friends are so great!

We started off with a spa session- we all then went back to our rooms for a power nap- (ha ha!!!!) then we went for a three course meal and an ann summers party. I was spoilt rotten and I love all my friends and family for putting on such a great evening!

However the venue we chose really let us down- what really worries me is that its the same hotel where I am having my wedding- now I don't know whether I should complain or keep quiet until after the wedding- I really don't want to 'fall' out with them!

The problems are quite small but very frustrating. First of all 2 out of the 6 rooms we had didn't have any cold water! so the showers were too hot to stand, and my room the complementary bottle of water and milk in my fridge were already used! (seal was broken and small amount used out of both) We went downstairs for dinner which should of been at 8:15, we didn't get seated until 8:30 and we then were left waiting until 9:30 for our starters and 10:30 for our mains! the food was nice once we got it but they forgot bits of it (like the sauce to go with the steak) so my friends complained their steak was cold because they had to wait for their sauce!!!!!! The staff they did have seem to ignore us and clear up the restaurant around us before we had even got our mains!

This hotel has always exceeded my expectations (I have stayed there many times before) what should I do? and how would I word a letter so that I put my point across but not but their back up!

I personally would complain, put forward everything you have written here, and explain you have stayed many times and have always been so impressed hence why you chose the venue for the most important day of your life. Then explain your concerns, and how worried you are, especially about the attitudes of some of the members of staff and how they will treat your guests then put it to the manager. Literally hand it to him. That should kick there a*ses into gear. They won't make it worse ect, if anything it should make them go all out as you have had all this with them, and they wouldn't want a bad review from a valued customer.

Sorry you felt let down by the venue, it's great that you enjoyed the company though.

Personally I'd say something. It'll stop you hopefully worrying about things going wrong on the wedding day.

Our reception venue totally messed up our menu tasting session, they were supposed to do all dishes dairy free for me because of my allergy. Of the 6 dishes we booked to try I could only eat 2! I was so upset and it totally ruined an experience I was really looking forward to, I was devastated watching all the other couples tucking into and enjoying the food and hubby was upset too because he knew how upset I was.

Obviously I said something and they bent over backwards to make it all right, inviting us back for another tasting session and gave us a room for a night for free which meant hubby could stay there the night before the wedding and leave from there for the church in the morning without any additional cost.

If you tell them they have a chance to reassure you and also maybe treat you to something xx

Also, usually, our venue have one events manager on the day for weddings, we have two events managers just to make sure everything was perfect.

If you tell them what you were disappointed with they'll likely make extra effort for your big day x

My sister is a hotel manager she adviced that you should explain every think to the manager of the hotel, that you stayed there many times and that your wedding will be held there. And then list the points that you felt let down on. They will not fall out with you. Most hotels will offer free nights stay with a complementary meal. As well as addressing the problems you have point out to them. However if you feel that the manager did not help you in any way she( my sister) suggests speaking to the area manager.
At the end of the day this place is going to host your special day. You shouldn't have to worry about not getting the best from you venue, you should be able to enjoy it. Xxxx

I agree, let them know now. After the wedding will be too late.

I would let them know before the wedding. You won't want to go and leave it and then have your day ruined as well due to the little mistakes. You are paying enough for the wedding I bet so just point out your concerns to the manager and ask they do not repeat themselves on your day. It might be that when they get that information from you that they bend over backwards to make sure it is not repeated.

I would say something, but make it clear that you have had better service from them in the past. It may be that they didn't have a good team of staff on that day, and the manager needs to know that there may be staff who need to improve.
