Hi all, I've just got off the phone to my Grandma on my Dad's side of the family. A very difficult to please person...

Anyway, she received her wedding invite yesterday, :) however it's more like :( cos apparently 'It should have been sent by my parents inviting people to the wedding of their daughter'... and 'how do I reply to it' (send back the RSVP page) and yes 'it's very obvious that they are home made (not in a good way)'.

Why can't she be happy for me... everything about the wedding just gets criticised and now she's saying she might not be able to come as she lives in Bath and I'm in west Yorkshire. Even though my dad's partner lives in Bath and is also coming to the wedding - share transport maybe? I had to bite my tongue so I didn't say well don't come then because I'm just about PAST CARING!!!! Grrrrr.

That so sounds like my dads mum. Which is why she doesnt even know we are getting married.I think if she is making this much fuss over the wedding then she dont deserve to go. If there is transport to get her to you then she should make the effort to come and keep quite

if she doesn't come it'll be her thats missing out hun, you'll still have your big day regardless!! x

i never understand why some people have find probs and pick at everything, also dont understand why the invites should be from the parents i'm doing ours from us as we're paying for it all, i asked my mum if she was ok with me doing it and said she could never understand it either i dont see why it matters lol xx

it doesn't matter what you say or do some people just can't be happy, just remember your not trying to please everyone your doing this for you and h2b and that's all that counts xx

Your invites are lovely - very personal - and so what if you made them, it makes them even more personal! Ignore your grandma, which I know is easier said! But old people are just like that sometimes - my mum's mum is exactly the same! I agree with raekim, ask your dad to have a quiet word about how she upset you - my aunt did that for me once when my nan upset me, and it worked wonders - she's been brilliant ever since lol

theres always one isnt there? try not to let her bother you hun and just enjoy your day whether she danes to grace you with her presence. much hugs xx

Thanks all - it's nice to know that there are people that understand. We've been laughing about it at my house - it's either laugh or cry!!! :) I'll have a chat to my dad and see what happens! Will let you know when there's any development! :)

I totally agree with what everyone else has said on here. We are paying for our wedding and the invites will be from us.
