    Where is your destination?

Our holiday is costing: £3,200 all inclusive - 2weeks & the wedding package is £635 so a total of £3,835 for the two of us.

We could have got it cheaper but we chose January when it's high season there so that bumped it up x

Which country are you looking at?

I've booked a wedding planner who is charging £800 for all the legal parts, translations of documents (bith certificates and certificates of non impediment) into Greek, hair for myself, bridesmaid and flowergirl (my 5 year old daughter), make up for myself, flowers for myself, bridesmaid, flower girl and partner.

I've booked the venue direct they are charging €911 for 25 meals, a cake and a photographer with 100 photos. €200 of this is a reservation fee.

I've booked the hoilday through F/Choice and that's costing £1850 for 2 adults and 1 child 14 nights 5* all inclusive (this also includes travel insurance and wedding cover)

So my total so far is £2650 + €911 (sorry don't know the current conversion rates)

All I have left to do is buy my dress, bridesmaids dresses, partners outfit, shoes and favours if I decide to have them.
    Rings have already been bought.

Doing it abroad was absolutely the best thing to do for us as we're on a very tight budget, we both have small families and we get a holiday out of it.

Search for wedding planners in that area. I knew exactly what evertying was going to cost beforé I booked. I've been told many times that wou will not get the prices of any optional extras (when booking through a tour operator) until you've committed yourself to the booking.

wow thats alot i think the 4200 can be brought down a bit but then again a wedding over here was adding up to 8 k roughly, the only thing we would loodse out on is the deposit on the church but now h2b is on about getting married in a church then go over for blessing and holiday men aye their worse than us the brochures are taking over i went in everywhere i do like f/choice though xx

We went with Thomsons which is the sister company to First Choice. They have been brilliant so far.

Ours is only alot because it's long haul too so prices are higher. Luckily our wedding package included everything mainly but we chose optional extras like photography, african dancers etc x

My partner wanted to get married in the registry office over here (just the two of us with nobody knowing) then fly over to Kos to have a blessing - this option was a lot cheaper and it saved on the paper work but I really didn't want to do this as to me it seems false. The whole point of getting married abroad, for me, was to get married abroad!!!

Hi KayleighW36 could i be really cheeky and ask what hotel you are staying at in Kos as that deal sounds fab!! (thinking of family)

We are getting married in Kos too We have booked it all through Thomson and for holiday bit for 2 it is £3000, the wedding is £600 the photographer videographer is £500, legal bits and bobs are £450 on top of that we have had to add hair/makeup,clothing & bling

our prices go up and down all the time deciding if we want to add things or not!

    xx

Hi FernP61 there is a cyprus thread on here jst type it into search.
Lots of information on the first page from a lady who done it alone. And other alternatives.

I can tell you we are paing over £4000 for cyprus basic wedding package.
Obviously you have to account for extras like reception fees and meals, hair - makeup.
Sometimes its cheaper to go with the hotel direct for wedding package and offers additional things like cake for example.
Then just your holiday with tour op.
I would say have a look at the forum thread official cyprus thread think its called and im sure you will find lots to help you out.

    xx

Evans2b we're staying in BLue Lagoon Resort, Kos Town. There were a few other hotels I liked but they were costing a lot more than what I was willing to pay and the BLR has everything for the children who will be 5,4,2,2. The wedding is through Kosweddings and we're getting married and having reception in Lofaki. What are your plans?

    KayleighW36,

Ohh i have stayed there 3 times before that hotel is absolutely gorgeous!! if you can ask for a room in block 3000! best views i would say (stayed in a couple of different places arund the hotel)!!
    Your plans sound gorgeous!

We are staying at the Blue Lagoon Village in Kefalos and getting married on the beach there, as there is only me and my fiancé going. We were going to have family but as we can't have everybody we want, we have decided to go alone & just have a party when we get back. We were going to get married and BLR but wanted a beach & they don't have a beach (have to pay for sunbeds) really at the resort so just transferred across!

    xx

I loved the look of BLV but it is too far away from Lofaki ( which I really had my heart set on). My daughter is 5 and I just wanted
a hotel where there would be lots for her to do and the other children who are joining us. We've got a garden view room but I have noted down block 3000.
