After booking a venue 5 months ago when i rang them on Monday they decided to tell me they had double booked and would i change my date!! I couldnt as we had booked lots of other things around it, anyway the other couple said they wouldnt change either so this venue was going to squeeze 2 weddings in on the same day! we wouldnt have booked this venue had we known this would be a possibility.
Anyway after the way they had handled it and werent even apologetic we decided we wouldnt have it there any more and would have to start again if necessary, BUT then heres the good news we found a gorgeous new venue thats even beter and had a cancellation on my day so i could keep the registrar appointment etc!! how lucky are we??
so pleased now things are back on track but havent even told other venue coz they cant be bothered to answer the phone! plus they didnt cash my deposit cheque so that will be bouncing if they try!!
sorry its a long story but so so so excited

make sure you cancel the cheque because you can get into hot water with the bank (charges and stuff) if they do try and cash it and fail.
other than that well done honey thats really good

i wasnt sure if they had cashed it or not but the bank said they hadnt so I cancelled it! phew
gonna try get them to give us some money to be honest as we will have to pay to give notice to the registrar again, its £67 which i would rather not have to pay twice for if i can help it! apart from that i think you're right rebeccalou it must be fate
feel all excited again now !!

Check with your registrar as when you change venues your notice of marriage becomes invalid and you have to reapply for it. On the council website for your area there should be info and details on who to contact xxxx

we found the other venue in the same area so we can keep our date and time etc with the registrar but just have to give notice again so should be quite straight forward thankfully
feel like its been a blessing in disguise now as i dont think the first venue would have been up to the job the way they handled this situation!
my new place is soooo much better i cant wait!

Cannot believe they could double book. A sure sign they are inept. Meant to be finding the other place with a cancellation. Brilliant!!
