hey, where are you getting married? We are getting married at Bunchrew House hotel and they recommended a band called Eclipse to us. So we had a look at them online and liked the look of them so booked them.
we also looked at Ceilidh Minogue which looked quite good. Most bands are happy to travel anywhere in Scotland. I know of somebody else getting married in Inverness and have a band called Cora (who are also supposed to be very good), oh and another with the Anne something or other band. We didnt want a female singer tho........
Rythm n Reel are also very awesome, but probably quite expensive. We enquired with them but they dont do weddings in Nov/Dec as they do a lot of Christmas parties. i have been to a few christmas parties where they were playing and they were totally brilliant!

the band are £1100, with a £220 deposit to be paid on booking to their agents. Apparently this is a discounted rate as the band are classed as local. They are from Wick!!
Bunchrew is costing us about £5000 for dinner for 50, and evening party of 75 (we are having 100 at night but you only cater for 75% of night guests). The includes the £500 venue charge, canapes and the champagne drinks package of champagne on arrival, half bottle of wine with the meal, then champagne for the toasts. The price can go up or down, depending on what you want on the buffet, basic price starts at £9.99 but isnt that much choice so we have allowed for £12 per head. Also the prices for the main meal start at about £38 per head, but we have allowed for £45 per head. We have still to sit and go through it all with the venue.
You also have to book up every room in the venue, or you get charged for them anyway!! the rooms for us are £150 per room in November. You get the bridal suite free, so have to fill the other 15 rooms. The price is per room and includes full Scottish breakfast. Most of the rooms are suites, or 4-posters so we are hopeful that we will fill them all with paying guests.
The girls are Bunchrew are great, really friendly and seem to be excited by all things wedding! they are really nice, and really dont mind being constantly emailed with loads of questions!! When i left there after my first visit I had an armful of wedding magazines they had given me! i loved it.
