    Aaargh.......

I proposed on 20th Feb, thinking we would be marrying 2015/2016...but my fiancé decided to get some brochures for venues.

"that's ok, she is excited" I thought to myself....so we get a call from 2 of the venues asking if we wanted to go for a viewing Saturday (1st March) so off we went.

Long & short of it, we have booked venue & registrar for Fri 27th June 2014!!!!

HELP!! 114 days till the day & we are trying to plan it all.

The venue takes care of all the ceremony, reception, wedding breakfast, reception drinks, evening buffet etc. So, outfits, rings, flowers,dj,photos, favours, invites, gifts for bridesmaids etc (not mention Hen & Stag do's) in very little time. especially as we both wrok, my fiancé works shifts so we don't always get days off together to do bits.

Its going to a very quick 3 months now!

Very exited but very worried we won't get it all done in time. Fingers crossed!

    Ooh, how exciting!

You'll be amazed at how much you can get done in a short space of time. My fiance proposed on 10th February this year and we booked our venue and registrar a week or so later!

We're getting married in September and people have said to us: 'Wow, that will come around quickly!' but it hasn't taken me long to sort out my dress, photographer, wedding transport etc. The venue, like yours, takes care of the ceremony, wedding breakfast, buffet, DJ etc but I've shocked myself at how decisive I've been about things and how fast I've got some things sorted. I must really want to get married!!

Speak to your friends, get their recommendations on things, calculate a budget, decide on a colour scheme... and enjoy it!

I'm sure you'll get it done in time; good luck :-)

You'll be fine - my FMIL planned all her wedding in one day!!! To be honest - I don't know about you, but I tend to do things better and be more organised if I've got less time. Somehow I seem to be more structured about things.....plus you've got us lot to help!! How exciting :-)

    Thank you for the support....

Yeah is very exciting. Well, she is off to her 1st ever bridal shop Sunday. The woman she spoke to was very reassuring that they could sort her a dress etc in no time.

My fiancé has never really thought about her dress, but that is done to her & it’s the one part I have no say in.

We have chosen our menu, then realised the soup starter (tomato) may be a very bad move, so that will probably change….got a few weeks to decide.

Our “family” DJ that does all weddings, birthdays etc is booked up already, but is trying to swap with a dj mate of his so he can do our day…..

A photographer, flowers & rings are my main concern. Both in organisation & budget….the venue has taken a big chunk in one hit (even though it takes care of the majority of the days costs).

    Thanks again.

I will update as we go!

Wow congrats! I'm sure you'll be fine; you both just need to sit down and set your budget. Is there anything you don't need? For instance how about setting up your own wedding website so people can have all the details on there? With 3 months to go; you don't really need to send our rsvps; just the invites :)

Attend as many wedding fayres as you can as they often offer deals if booked on the day such as your photographer? Try and haggle or get something thrown in for free with your suppliers. For instance do you really need the expensive album included in the photography package or can that be removed? It will save you £££'s and you can get a just as nice and cheaper album elsewhere :)

    Thank you!

Yes we have a fayre sunday, but then my fiancé is working the next 3 weekends in a row, so we lose that time to look at bits "together".

The budget is set, now she just needs to stick to it. ha ha.

Hopefully, being a Friday wedding there will be some photographers etc at a loose end, but it is summer, it is 15 weeks away, so I wont be surprised if they are all booked up.

    Cheers

Ok, so venue booked, catering sorted (nearly, meeting cateres in a couple of weeks to finalise numbers and menu), flowers done, her dress, my outfits and bridesmaid dresses sorted.

Our "family" DJ is already busy, so need to find one and photographer a nightmare to find!!

Registrar meeting tomorrow followed by ring shopping.

    Cheers

Wow, you don't do things by halves do you! Good luck to you both! I think relaxing is key and remembering that people do this in 3 WEEKS on D0n't t3ll the bride so if it can be done on that timescale then I'm sure you can... Saying that, it will be stressful at the same time! As long as you have registrar, venue and dress then the rest will fall in to place :) xx

Yeah. The biggest is sticking to the budget....

Rings are the main one now.

We know what we want, just need to find somewhere. Loads of online places but i dont know if we can trust them.....anything could go wrong. Ah well.

We are almost all ticked off with our "to do's".

Wow very quick! Sometimes a good thing as you have no time to change your mind on anything so once decision is made that's it! I liked having longer to sort mine, which is since oct 12 and getting married this sept but I guess when u have limited time u don't drag your heels as much with decisions either.
    Good luck xx

    Wow-how very exciting :)

I know someone who got engaged in Feb and are getting married this September, lots of people do this wedding thing quite quickly....

I have to laugh at this post a little, just because we were the same as you except the other way round, my fiancé proposed thinking we'd get married this year and I decided we'd need more time so was looking at next year or 2016, suppose we compromised by going for 2015.

But back to you, don't worry, it can be done and will be fab :)

I can't wait to hear how all the planning goes

Hi all, well we had our "interview" with the registrar this morning. All went well so 16 days and our "blues" will be in the post so thats another one off the list.

I am meeting a photographer saturday hopefully to book him.

Dj and rings are all that's left to book/buy so all good!

Invites have been hand written last night, hand delivered today with a rsvp of 30th april as we need to meet caterers 1st week of may.

Stress and worry is subsiding, enjoyment and excitement building!!

I will try and unlock my profile now. Thanks!

Well, what can i say!! Thunderstorms forecast for the afternoon, cloudy in the morning... but travelled to the venue and the sun peeped its head out. The nerves kicked in, legs went to jelly as i stood at the altar.

As the music started, i welled up and shed a tear. The rain fell for a few minutes during the ceremony but then glorious sunshine for the rest of the day into the evening.

Speeches went well. People laughed and said "awww" in the right places even though i was a nervous wreck.

All in all a brilliant day! Would not change a thing except the speed it all went by!!!!

Thank you all for your advice, suggestions and support in the lead upto the big day!
