Does your venue have any options at all?

Tried to add you as a friend to discuss but your profile is restricted.

Our venue offers things like - baked Camembert in a box with walnuts and honey as a starter or you could have salmon or if a winter wedding a soup? Your venue might be able to do something like gluten free pasta?

    Main - a roast?

    Dessert- something creamy/ fruit based?

I've changed the category for you Emma. In future, please can you make sure you select an appropriate category for your threads?
    Thanks!

I'll try and find an old thread for you - may help with cakes I seem to remember. And I think there may be a few more ideas on there too.

Hi Emmerial - I'm a coeliac! It's a pain in the bum sometimes, but some good gluten free choices should be manageable by any good establishment, and shouldn't cost you any more. There are so many dishes which are all the better for being gluten free!
May I make one huge suggestion though - if anyone is planning on kissing your hubby, they should be eating gluten free too! I.e. you!! And that includes not drinking beer.
I'm planning on making the gluten free food visibly different to gluten food - different colour icing for cupcakes for example. Even if you choose a soup starter you could provide your own gf bread, a different shape to everyone else's to avoid confusion. I'm putting flags in my canapés too, so I know what I (and other gluten free eaters) can have.
I'm planning on taking my own glass to the venue, so that if I put it down it doesn't get mistaken as to whose it is - that way, I don't have to worry about accidentally drinking from the same glass as someone eating gluten.
If you need any more tips, drop me a pm :-) x

my niece is coeliac to and I think we are having soup as a starter as its easy enough to make gluten free you could do this with no bread or gluten free (my sister will just bring her own roll for her)
she also tends to eat roasts when she is out omitting the Yorkshire puds and tend to take her own gravy but our venue is providing her with a gluten free gravy as then have it in stock any way.
some cake makers will provide to gluten free cake these days I am making one for my niece myself and the cake maker will decorating it in the style of my wedding cakes.

I have a really good gluten and dairy free baking book that I use when I make her cakes I can post the link on your wall if you want it

Most venues will accommodate all dietary needs, it wouldn't be too hard to provide a gluten free meal for him. You don't need to worry about making your entire meal gluten free (which would be super expensive :( ).

my brother is on a gluten free diet and the venue were very accomodating to give him a gluten free version of the meal. We offered to bring in seafood sauce and yorkshire puddings to make there life easier but they said they had it all as they do a lot of gluten free weddings. Just ask hun and they can arrange for it all to be gluten free or just your hubby's. They also gave my brother a whole platter of gluten free food for the evening reception, much to his delight. (he scoffed the lot!)

    we had

    Prawn cocktail
    roast beef dinner
baileys profiteroles (he has a really nice fresh fruit salad with meranges and greek yogurt)

    Evening:

nachoes and sour cream and salsa
    fajita wraps
    chicken skewers

and some other stuff i can't remember! lol

I've got gluten free people at my wedding (as well as Vegans) and our venue hasn't charged us any more for her food they have changed a few things so she can have nearly the same as everyone else.

Have you spoken to your venue to see if they can do that for you?
