    Hello all.
I am having a go at making my own pocketfold invites. My bits came today and I'm a little impatient and want to start or at least practice!

Just wondering, what is the best type of glue to use? I'm not a crafty person so have absolutely no idea what I need to be buying glue wise.

    Thanks :)

    Here comes the bride......

I think you have to be careful with some glue as it may make the card shirvel or wrinkle, if it doesn't have to be that strong a hold the little sticky dots are fab, great for sticking your insets in etc

im using extra strong glue i found in morrisons my gems are well stuck only problem is if not used with all windows in house wide open you end up really really high lol found that out the hard way other then that dries clear and doesnt make a mess x

If it's ribbon try doble sided tape, it doesn't show through like the glue! xx

i found that double sided didn't hold it so i glue gunned the ribbon into place, it shows through yes but everyone can see they are hand made now :-) the insert i would use the spray stuff as it is a thin layer and doesn't crinkle the card up or just use a hole punch in the back and tie a bit of ribbon through to hold it in place :-)

To glue the paper onto the card we've spraymount. It's not cheap but it seems to last quite a long time. We've made 60 save the dates and a sample invitation and there's still loads left. It's just like spray paint (but clear obviously!) and you can't see it through the paper and it doens't wrinkle. We put some plastic sheeting down and opened the patio doors (it was raining otherwise we'd have done it outside) so becareful cus it's quite strong smelling! I wore a plastic gloce as well cus it gets a bit sticky when you're picking them up, sticking them, spraying the next. We had a little production line and sprayeda few in a line cus you can't put the next one in the same spot til the glue has dried.

Sorry, essay about glue! What is this wedding doing to me, lol :-) x

dont put glue on ribbon, it doesnt dry clear (learn from my mistake!) I would get glue dots for ribbon. i just used normal craft glue on my card invites, got a double ended applicater with one end like a pen and the other a sponge. Just dont put too much on or it may make the card look too wet and it will dry that way too.

I've made invites for a few customers. Usually the places where you buy all the bits should sell really thin double sided tape, it comes in different strengths depending if you are sticking card or ribbon. I personally would not advise glue as it makes paper look bumpy and can seep through ribbon.

    Have fun making!
