I have a bit of conundrum, i am a glasses wearer. I wear them from the moment i wake up to the minute i go to bed. I cant wear contact lenses as they make my eyes sore and irritated.. I cant really see without my glasses on but i can see a little. My question is, should i wear them on my wedding day? I want to look glam but i also want to see everything! Has anyone got any photos of their wedding where they have worn glasses?
I really cant decide!!!

I am a glasses wearer to but i'm gonna wear contacts on the day. But I know how you feel so maybe just keep them off for the cerimony but get one of your bridesmaids to look after them until you need to sign and then leave them off for the photos and put tthem on when you get to the reception x

whether or not you wear or dont wear your glasses im sure you will look amazing however personally if i were you i would wear the glasses as this would maintain my confidence throughout the day. if i was not to wear them i would panic about something or other........my h2b is the same he wears glasses from the minute he wake up till the minute he sleeps and he was discussing his fears about this. i have told him i would much prefer him to stay in his glasses all day as i would prefer him to be confident as he is on a daily basis. i think he feels like it is going back to school days and fear of not looking the best.
just because you need to wear your glasses will not sop you from looking glam, plus why suffer just in case you may look more glam xx

My brother decided that on his wedding day he would wear his glasses as that was him he always had them so why change for one day. I wear glasses most of the time but have contacts for when i go out or when i can be bothered!!!!
It is up to you if you feel like you in your glasses and will be happy wearing them then i say go for it. why is it that you would consider not seeing your wedding day just so you dont have to wear your glasses?!!! I would suggest trying contacts again, try the breathable daily disposable ones they are much nicer to your eyes and for only one day if you really really dont want your glasses on.

Im thinking of not wearing my glasses for the ceremony and photos then putting them on after I have got some of the frameless ones so they dont stand out too much
There are so many people out there who will tell you
what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!
Google brides with glasses and there's a few pics of brides who look lovely with their frames!
Maybe treat yourself to a new pair of frames that'll look great with your dress. I'm sure you can get anti-glare lenses these days which should help with photo's.
Unless you can get contacts you're comfortable with there's probably no point blinding yourself on the day and looking at your wedding pics wondering why you don't look like you because you haven't got your glasses on.
I was a glasses wearer for most my life and I'm just trying out contacts now. I'm not fully decided on whether or not I'll wear contacts or glasses for my day. I'm trying to get used to the way I look without glasses cause I think I hide behind my frames! I feel like such a mole without my glasses as I have small, deep set eyes and they're really close together!
Either way, have no shame of your frames! :D

What are your current glasses like? Maybe get a frameless lightweight pair so they're not so noticable, but my friend is very short sighted and has always worn glasses (since the age of 12) I think she looks weird without glasses on - she suits her glasses more. I think it all depends on how you feel. I am a glasses wearer and contacts but am lazy and prefer my glasses. Contacts can irrate me if they're in for too long so I need to wear them for a few days to get used to them again.

I had a thread on this ages ago and I've started wearing my contacts more but to be honest I may end up just wearing my glasses as i feel undressed without them lol

I can't stand my glasses, so I got extended wear lenses (the ones you can sleep in for up to a month). I only wanted them for the wedding and honeymoon but now I can't live without them... mostly because my body has adjusted to them. But obviously they're not for everyone.
My advice is, if you're comfortable in your glasses and you always wear them, then wear them on your wedding day. I almost always wear contacts (as I'm a dancer) so it wasn't a big deal for me not to wear glasses. You don't want to look back on your wedding pictures and think you don't look like you.

I'm going without my glasses, I can see without them, just not so clearly, so I can get away with it but I'll have them in my room at the reception venue so if I start to get a headache I'll go get them and pop them on.
I like the idea of treating yourself to a nice new pair of glam frames :) xx

If you need them to see then I would definately wear them, but if you have a little bag with you, you could just take them off while the photos are being taken....even the whole ceremony you probably wont need to wear them....up until the signing.
Then when all the official photos are done, put them back on for the rest of the day.....
I can resist anything but temptation

Are you on the pill or work in an air conditioned building Mrs knight to be? Both will affect your contact wearing quite a bit.
How about contacts for ceremony and pics then put your glasses on?
CommentAuthorNishaVyas88
Taking them out might cause your eyes to water though, which will impair your make-up. Just something to consider- I think you should either wear contacts all day or glasses all day, unless you have time to touch up your make-up in between.
But yeah, the pill and air conditioning can irritate the eyes. I find that Focus Dailies are very good for keeping the eyes moist- when I used dailies, they were the best. Boots own brand weren't that great- I had many times where they'd split before I'd even used them (a couple of times they split in my eye- aagh!)- although that was nearly a decade ago, so they may have improved.

Don't think i'll ever wear contacts, don't like the idea of them, I quite like a nice pair of frames :)

i wear glasses and contacts and like you my eye sight is awful so have to wear then all day but i do wear contacts on most days for work. when i get home i change to glassees and wear them on sundays.
if they irriate your eyes i would say your not wearing the correct ones as you shouldnt notice them at all. air con can affect your eyes and i notice at work they do get very dry and i have to add drops in the afternoon. i wore contacts when i was about 17 and then stopped and started again a couple of years ago and i have noticed that in the 7 years there has been a vast improvement in them and they are much better these days.
saying that though if you wear glasses every day i would stick to them as tat i what you are used to and you dont want your wedding pics not to lok like you x

I'm wearing my glasses, although I think I'll buy myself a new pair as the ones I wear currently are quite bold, so I'll go for a more subtle frame.

Don't forget a lot of opticians offer an anti-reflect coating on glasses- be sure to ask about it. It does cost a bit extra but it'll be worth it.

I also don't wear contact lenses because my eyes get irritated. But I hate glasses so I'm definitely going for contacts and will just have to bear them for as long as I can! Try using a warm compress on your eyes for 2mins morning and night for 2 weeks before wearing contacts - I find it helps to stop them getting so dry. xx

I started wearing glasses full time in my 30's and I am wearing some new frames for our wedding. I unfortunately have bags under my eyes now which my glasses help hide a bit. I look tired without them. Loads of brides wear their glasses, it's part of who they are x
