So, i know it varies from county to county, district to district etc but.....
We gave notice on Friday. We then obviously have to wait 15 days to then go back and collect the authorisation papers, which we then have to send / hand over to the district we are getting married in.
We live in one but the venue is in the neighbouring district but that bit is all fine and dandy.

I thought when we gave notice we would receive paperwork to do with choosing vows and wordings and what not? Does that come in post or do I have to wait to get anything like that until after we have given the papers to the district of marriage?

Another UKBrider said she received a booklet on the day they gave notice containing vows and what not, so was just wondering how it all worked for anyone else?

The legal side to getting married. basically other than CoE you must give notice of intention to marry. the legal document with who is getting married and where. Once you have gone to the local registrar to do this it is on show for 15 days.
After this period, another document called a 'marriage authority' will be issued. This document is the legal clearance and allows your marriage to take place.

I've just re-read your post - it will come once the district you're getting married in has received the papers I think.
Our registery office sent them for us though and the booklet etc came through about 3 weeks later, from the district we're marrying in not where we gave notice xx

ah right ok. see the woman at the registry office didnt mention anything about receiving any booklets and what not, so thats why i got a bit confused.
did they mention anything to you at time of giving notice? or did you just receive stuff in post once district had them. i assumed i didnt get anything until the district im marrying in received my papers! so am hoping its like you and get the information once they get them. roll on 15 days!

Yeah she said we would receive it once the period of time for it to be objected had gone and papers had been passed on.
It just had verse and ceremony options etc and then some forms to fill in about witnesses and things like that and a little certificate to say it had been approved.
Don't worry hun, it'll be with you soon xx
