The bridesmaids and/or flowergirls and pageboys normally would get a small gift, I'm doing a personalised poems in a frame for each of mine and the parents of the bride and groom normally get something. Can't remember whether the best man gets anything

I haggled with the rings and got my BMs bracelets that should have been £49 each for free.

The best man - h2b will sort

The flower girls are getting matching necklaces to mine (although the poem idea sounds much cheaper)

The parents are getting a thank you in the speeches and a present from our honeymoon

The cake maker - my aunt, will get a thank you gift as she will have done something productive towards the wedding....probably flowers although pet food is probably more useful.

Something for your wedding planner, usually a bouquet, if your feeling generous.

H2bs reaction to all of this is " I'm paying for their f ing tea ain't I, what more do they want"

    I'm now a married woman
    I have a gorgeous husband
    Whats to do now
Theres no more wedding planning to do

This is MY reaction too - we give thank yous to the people who actually contributed. Not the ones I am supposed to.

but if your bridesmaids and best man do their job properly then they will have contributed by eliminating stress and helping the day go smoothly

Yes no doubt. But it still doesn't mean I have to honour everybody who is ought to by tradition. My aunt and her ex-husband will get something from us because they contributed the most financially.

no it doesnt and you dont HAVE to do any kind of gift really, but i think if those people are contributed and made your life easier whilst planning the wedding then i think it is nice to say a nice little thank you
