So, I have a little poem to go inside my day invites as we are asking for money instead of gifts, the poem is perfect for us as it talks about the house needing work in every room. (our house is in desperate need of some TLC) but what I was wondering was, do I put this on the evening invites as well? I don't know the etiquette for evening invites, do you send them gift lists or not?

I know some of the evening invites Ive had have had them in. Its so much easier that way if the couple tell you what they want x

I would say put them in. The evening guests will probably want to buy you something too so they're better off knowing what you want.

Yes I have added our gift list in our evening invites x x
I was wondering what to do about a message about gifts myself. I was tempted not to put anything in about it at all and then just tell people word of mouth through our parents and friends that we'd just like the money towards the honeymoon. Do you think you have to mention it?

It's up to you, I would mention it to save people asking. I just added in the invite that we didn't want people to give us anything but just to turn up but if they want to we would like money for our honeymoon. Then it's up to them, if they want to give they know what to do x x

Yeah I guess, it just feels so un-natural asking people for a present!

It's up to what you feel really, I had this discussion with my h2b and he would prefer if we didn't add the gift poem to the evening guests, if they ask what we'd like the obv course I will say we'd prefer money instead of gifts :)
