I keep looking at my guest list and depresses me... Ideally we need under 80 people for wedding breakfast and that is to keep costs down but also to fit everyone in the size of the room and then can have a more people in the evening.
So far we are on 82 people (19 are children) and need to take people off then keep changing my mind. Most of that is family, we have massive families and both really close with them and then really close friends but i have missed a few couples off and feel guilty but i suppose i need to draw the line somewhere. Any tips? xx

be ruthless. our rule was if we haven't seen them in a year then no invite to the day but possibly one to the evening if we've spoken to them
you just have to not think of it about feeling guilty at the end of the day everyone knows weddings cost a fortune so they should understand

think along of the lines of the main guests ie parents, grandparents, brothers, sister etc very immediate family. then go through aunts and uncles. then your closest friends but dont forget to include the bridal party. as you build from that take it to next level relations and cousins. people you havent seen in years id make them a evening guest, cousins evening guests too.
i hope it helps, its what we did as we have large families and as long as everyone is there you want whether it be a day or evening guest then its fine.

I have 10 cousins who are all married and with children and we are really close and see each other 4/5 times a year with regular contact so cant cut down on cousins or aunts and uncles.
Its annoying me as my H2B's sister has been with the same guy for 10 odd years and he is ok - never really had anything to do with him as very different lives... he is really dirty, smells and never looks nice and would rather him not come at all as dont want him in the pictures and let a friend come who i actually like instead but you cant not invite your someone who is family and never actually done anything wrong plus his sister will not be impressed.... im being a bridezilla !! xx

We invited everyone then found when some people declined we were able to move some people over from night to day - so I'd still invite your 82 then have some people in mind to move across if you're able to :-)

We are getting married 120 miles from home so i feel guilty inviting people to only the evening do if they are travelling so far to be with us... i guess i would do it so our friends would too !!

Hey i live on an island n all my family are in kent i invited about 110 people and can only have a 100 for sit down meal cos its the travelling and family members are old i got declines and now bang on 80 so u either be ruthless and let bridezilla out :) or send invites out hoping ppl will declince or decide not to bring children so they can have a fun time xxxx its hard i know if we all had the money in the world these lil thoughts wudnt need thinking off xxx

We are only invited families children to the wedding, this still equals 18 but they are half price for food and wont need drinks so slightly cheaper.
