My partner and I have found a venue that is one county over from where we currently live. Do we have to give notice of our marriage with the county we are in or the county we intend to marry in? or both? Many thanks.

I got married in the neighbouring county. We had to give notice in our local registry office where we live. Although we had a church wedding so the priest organised the registrar for the place we actually got married.

ON my first marriage, we lived on the mainland b ut was getting married on the IOW, so we gave notice at our local one.

We live in London but are marrying in Kent and had a similar experience to Glitterfairy and InDreamland.
We gave notice at our local borough council offices and, after the 28 waiting period, they automatically sent the notice to the registrar in Kent.

We're getting married in my home town church but since booking it we moved to a nearby local town. We then had to have the Banns read out at the church we are getting married in and also our local church for the parish we live in. The Banns certificate cost an additional £35 from our local church but my Reverend warned us if we didn't do it within time atleast 3 weeks prior to our wedding day I think!) we could end up paying an additional £200 the week of the wedding or we wouldn't be able to get married on the big day! I'd definitely check it out as you wouldn't want to end up paying more or not being able to get married! Better safe than sorry!
