MrsMcleish im going next April what was the weather like?
AWESOME!!!!! Lol We absolutely loved it, I bought it for my H2B as an engagement present and welcome home from Afghan lol the weather is perfect, beaches and sea amazing and the actually place and people are brilliant! You will all love it! Just go to a 4* hotel and check the food reviews first because that is the only thing that can let it down and when your all inclusive you want good quality and choice of food xxxxx If you have any questions just shout xxxx

MrsRobson2b: try Thomas Cook, Thomson, The Holiday Place, Kuoni, and specialists like Voyager Cuba and Captivating Cuba. They have hotels in most parts of Cuba inc the Cayos.
Guardalavaca is also very nice and worth a look; the beach is great and it's easier to do trips if you choose; the Paradisus Rio de Oro is a 5* adult only hotel that would be my pick for a honeymoon.

I did a site inspection last year and it's very nice :-) We stayed at the sister resort next door (Sol Rio Luna y Mares) for 6 nights as part of a multi-centre trip and really enjoyed it; the food was very good, though my parents said it was better the previous year (the restaurant manager from the Sol Rio had moved to the Paradisus which is possibly why, so you should be in for a treat!)
I'd recommend doing some trips while there to see the 'real Cuba'; Havana is well worth an overnight trip if you can afford it and can bare to leave for a night, as it's just a whole other world.

Travel agent told us when we booked it that we could do Havana in a day.
She gave us some info of different things to do, think id love to swim with dolphins but got to see when we get there.
I'm honestly so excited lol. I get married on the sat & fly out on mon to cuba :-D

You can do Havana in a day, but I wouldn't. You need to fly up, which takes 2.5 hours door-to-door (each way), and Havana is very big, so you won't see much in a few hours. You'll also miss out on the evening; we love eating out there then finding a bar with live music, or you could go to Tropicana which is pretty good. Obviously it's personal, but I think a day is tight; I've spent 10 nights there and still haven't seen everything I'd like to see!
Re the dolphin swim: please do your research. We did one in the DR and seriously regret it. The whole thing is very cruel; many are captured from the wild and not born in captivity, and many die in transit. They develop sores from the constant contact with humans and the tricks they have to do, and even at world-class facilities the enclosures are TINY; the one in the DR is one of the larger facilities and I was horrified at the size of the enclosures, they looked so trapped and restricted. There are places where you can see and even swim with dolphins in the wild, inc parts of Mexico, Egypt and Hawaii, so I would urge you to look at those and skip the swim in Cuba. I don't want to sound like a miserable so-and-so, or spoil anything for you, but had I known what I do now no way would I have done that swim in the DR; I've thrown the photos away and cringe when I think about it.
